BWC is currently operating under a hybrid schedule that can incorporate both teleworking and in-office hours. Employees may be required to report to the office when requested by management &/or for their initial job training. See "Working Location" below.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Coordinates BWC’s electronic commerce programs through design & implementation of Prepaid Card accounts & Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)
  • Approved electronic transfers from BWC through maintaining accounting & auditing records to ensure compliance of BWC rules & Ohio state statutes.
  • Monitors performance of prepaid accounts & EFT to individual injured workers’, providers’, vendors’ & MCOs’ accounts by preparing & maintaining management reports of State of Ohio Insurance Fund; establishes & approves accounts for prepaid & EFT
  • Establishes & implements auditing & accounting procedures to ensure compliance to North American Clearing House Association (NACHA) & Federal Banking Regulations (Regulation E)
  • Prepares daily transfer packet & approve and reconcile batches in Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Rates and Payments (RNP) module
  • Approve accounts for prepaid & EFT’s electronically deposits compensation payments into accounts set up by BWC.

Qualifications

42 mos. exp. or 42 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an advanced level of experience in spreadsheet software.

  • Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; 18 mos. exp. or 18 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an advanced level of experience in spreadsheet software.

  • Or completion of graduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; 6 mos. exp. or 6 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an advanced level of experience in spreadsheet software.

  • Or 12 mos. exp. as Financial Analyst, 66562.

  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above. NOTE: Successful completion of the Fiscal Academy may be substituted for 4 mos. of required accounting/fiscal experience referenced in this portion of the minimum qualifications.

Salary Information:
Hourly wage is expected to be paid at step 1 of the pay range associated with the position for candidates who are new employees of the state. Current employees of the state will be placed in the appropriate step based on any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code. Movement to the next step of the pay range will occur after six months, assuming job performance is acceptable. Thereafter, an employee will advance one step in the pay range every year until the highest step of the pay range is reached. There may also be possible cost of living adjustments (COLA) and longevity supplements begin after five (5) years of state service.

Educational Transcript Requirement: In order for any educational achievements to be considered during the screening process, you must at least attach an unofficial transcript that details the coursework you have completed.
