The DuPont Electronics and Industrial site in Circleville, Ohio is seeking a Product Quality Engineer to join the Kapton® team. The Product Quality Engineer provides technical support to the Kapton® team to improve customer satisfaction and quality-related performance of the business. This roll will provide support for quality related root cause analysis, customer complaint communications, non-conforming product dispositioning, and technical continuous improvement programs.

The Kapton® business supplies film to a diverse range of customers in the electronics and industrial segments. The Circleville site consists numerous manufacturing and slitting operations to serve our customers. The quality engineer will use data analysis, technical knowledge, and a strong quality mindset to support the product quality and drive continuous improvement.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate customer requirements from specifications into the Quality Systems.
  • Develop relationships with customers, collecting Voice of the Customer to cascade to the technical and operations teams.
  • Facilitate customer facing work processes such as surveys, specification reviews, and change notifications.
  • Lead and/or supports investigations of internal and external quality issues in a timely manner using root cause tools (5 Why, Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Fishbone, etc.)
  • Work with manufacturing teams to facilitate corrective & preventative actions.
  • Coordinate customer complaint responses relating to customer quality issues.
  • Collaborate with technical and R&D resources to analyze process and product risks.
  • Serve as quality resource for release of non-conforming product.
  • Actively participate in Operations dialogue as a quality advocate.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert resource for quality training and coaching.
  • Coordinate quality improvement projects to align with and achieve Quality Objectives, to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct internal system, process, and product audits and monitors corrective action plans.
  • Provide Quality Control lab support, including development of equipment methodology and Measurement System Analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Applied knowledge and experience working with Quality Management System requirements such as ISO 9001:2015.
  • Experience interfacing with Customers and Suppliers on quality and technical issues.
  • Experience leading root cause analysis and developing effective corrective/preventative actions.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Statistical Analysis software (Minitab or JMP preferred).
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft programs (Excel, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency conducting Measurement System Analysis.
  • Delivers clear verbal and written message to both a diverse audience.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or higher is desired.
