Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Manager to oversee and manage our inventory control processes. The Inventory Manager will be responsible for ensuring accurate inventory levels, implementing efficient inventory management systems, and optimizing inventory turnover. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, inventory control, and warehouse management.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership:
- Provide effective leadership and direction to warehouse personnel to ensure the smooth operation of daily activities.
- Develop training programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of warehouse staff in inventory management techniques and procedures.
- Foster a culture of accountability and teamwork within the warehouse team, encouraging open communication and collaboration.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members to support their professional growth and development.
- Inventory Management:
- Oversee all aspects of inventory management with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Conduct regular audits of inventory numbers for packaging, raw materials, work in progress production, and final finished goods.
- Implement robust inventory control measures to minimize discrepancies and ensure accurate stock levels.
- Utilize advanced features of the ERP system to track inventory movements, monitor stock levels, and generate insightful reports for decision-making purposes.
- Optimization of Warehouse Layout:
- Strategically analyze warehouse layouts to optimize space utilization and facilitate efficient movement of inventory.
- Develop comprehensive plans for organizing warehouse space, including creating labeled rows/aisles with designated spots for each SKU.
- Implement visual management techniques such as color-coded labels and signage to enhance navigation and accessibility within the warehouse.
- Regularly review and adjust warehouse layouts as needed to accommodate changing inventory requirements and operational needs.
- ERP System Management:
- Leverage the capabilities of the ERP system to streamline inventory management processes and enhance operational efficiency.
- Utilize demand forecasting tools to project future inventory needs and optimize inventory levels.
- Configure par levels and reorder points within the ERP system to maintain optimal stock levels and prevent stockouts.
- Collaborate with IT teams to troubleshoot system issues and implement system upgrades or enhancements as needed.
- Supply Chain Projection:
- Analyze historical data and market trends to forecast future demand and anticipate inventory requirements.
- Develop comprehensive ordering strategies to ensure timely replenishment of inventory while minimizing excess stock.
- Maintain close communication with suppliers to track order status and address any issues or delays in delivery.
- Monitor inventory turnover rates and adjust ordering parameters as necessary to optimize inventory levels and minimize carrying costs.
- Shipping and Receiving Records:
- Establish robust documentation processes for recording all shipping and receiving activities.
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct thorough inspections of incoming shipments to identify any discrepancies or damages.
- Document receiving discrepancies and coordinate with suppliers or carriers to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of shipping and receiving transactions in the ERP system to provide visibility into inventory movements and stock availability.
- Quality Assurance and Incoming Shipments:
- Conduct rigorous quality control checks on all incoming shipments to ensure the accuracy and integrity of received products.
- Verify that shipments conform to specifications, including quantity, quality, and documentation requirements.
- Collaborate closely with quality assurance teams to establish and maintain stringent quality standards for incoming shipments.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inspecting, testing, and accepting/rejecting incoming materials and products.
- Perform visual inspections, measurements, and testing as necessary to assess the quality and condition of received goods.
- Document inspection results and communicate any deviations or non-conformities to appropriate stakeholders for resolution.
- Utilize quality control tools and methodologies to identify potential issues or defects in incoming shipments.
- Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to address root causes and prevent recurrence of quality issues.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to resolve quality-related issues promptly and ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain accurate records of quality control checks and inspection activities, including documentation of acceptance/rejection decisions and any corrective actions taken.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for product quality and safety.
- Provide training and guidance to warehouse personnel involved in quality control activities to ensure adherence to established procedures and standards.
- Foster a culture of quality consciousness and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency enhancements within the warehouse.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and standardize processes across different areas of the business.
- Utilize lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies to streamline workflows and eliminate waste.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress towards operational goals and identify areas for further improvement.
- Encourage a culture of innovation and creativity, where team members are empowered to propose and implement innovative solutions to operational challenges.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
