A growing client is working with Robert Half to hire a Human Resources Generalist. The HR Generalist is responsible for overseeing personnel and daily operations of the human resources department. Responsibilities

  • Participate in interdepartmental meetings with other managers
  • Establish recruitment plans, interview schedules and evaluation standards in accordance with HR methodologies and labor laws
  • Educate employees such that they follow all policies and procedures
  • Evaluate reports provided by the HR team, team leaders and operations managers to determine employee performance and training needs
  • Understand and implement applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conduct investigations, maintain records, and represent the organization at hearings
  • Lead all HR activities, communications, reports, requests and documents created and received by the team
  • Administer exit interviews and procedures to the Law Firm
  • Organize historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system and keeping past and current records
  • Institute management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures
  • Amplify the organization's human resources department by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices
  • Be in charge of human resource staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
  • Payroll data entry is needed to set up new staff on Paychex
  • Explore compensation standards set by industry and governing bodies in order to create salary structures and administer employee benefits

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or similar field
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience within human resources
  • Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Accomplished in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion
  • PHR/SPHR or other relevant certifications are preferred
  • A familiarity with the main ideas of employment law and EEOC regulations
  • Proficient with HR software and working knowledge of MS Office
  • Impeccable ethics, integrity, and standards
  • Adept to problem-solving and conflict resolution
  • 1+ years in human resources
  • Possess strong organizational and follow-up skills
  • Ability to view issues without bias
  • Wide knowledge of HR policies, benefits administration, compensation and wage structure
  • Prior Legal or Law firm experience a huge plus
