Job Summary

As the Vice President of Labor Relations Operations, you will play a pivotal role in operationalizing labor relations for both internal and external clients. Leveraging data and commercial insights, you will lead initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of labor relations tools and initiatives, while also improving the Service Level Agreement (SLA) between the field and labor relations (LR) teams. Additionally, you will provide presence and guidance during complex negotiations, ensure the successful embodiment of Joint Labor Management Committees, and coach and consult with operators to better understand how to operate under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).


Responsibilities:

  • Operationalization: Develop and implement strategies to operationalize labor relations processes and initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Client Focus: Act as a liaison between labor relations and internal/external clients, understanding their needs and requirements to deliver high-quality services and solutions.
  • Data-driven Approach: Utilize data analytics and commercial insights to inform decision-making and optimize labor relations tools, processes, and initiatives.
  • Enhanced SLA: Lead efforts to enhance the Service Level Agreement (SLA) between the field and labor relations teams, establishing clear expectations and performance metrics.
  • Complex Negotiations: Provide presence and guidance during complex labor negotiations, leveraging your expertise to facilitate productive discussions and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Joint Labor Management Committees: Ensure the successful embodiment and functionality of Joint Labor Management Committees, fostering collaboration and problem-solving between labor and management representatives.
  • Coaching and Consultancy: Coach and consult with operators to better understand how to operate under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), providing guidance and support to ensure compliance and effective labor relations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in labor relations operations, identifying opportunities for optimization and efficiency gains.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, legal, operations, and finance, to ensure alignment and integration of labor relations efforts.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to labor relations operations, implementing proactive measures to minimize potential impact.
  • Performance Measurement: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of labor relations operations and initiatives.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing updates, reports, and recommendations on labor relations operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, labor relations, HR, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven track record of leadership in labor relations operations, with a focus on operationalizing processes, leveraging data insights, and enhancing client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of labor relations principles, laws, and regulations, with the ability to apply them in a commercial context.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience working in a client-facing role or with external stakeholders preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and lead change initiatives effectively.
