Job Title: Systems Administrator

Work Location: San Diego, CA

Introduction:

Rivet Operations Company (“Rivet”) has an opening for a Systems Administrator to join our rapidly growing team in the San Diego, CA area. Rivet is an exceptional industry partner to the Department of Defense (DoD) and a leader in cyber security, IT management, logistics, supply chain management, process improvement and development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Not listed in order of importance; other duties may be assigned) and must be able to perform the following with minimal guidance:

  • Perform tracking and administration for all Force shore-based equipment, to include, but not limited to Information Technology (IT)/Local Area Network (LAN) assets and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA)-owned printers.
  • Ensure command assets meet all cyber security and classification requirements, including proper storage, handling, inventory, disposal, clearing, sanitizing, and destruction.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for command asset (e.g. computers, monitors, printers, peripherals) functions and processes.
  • Assist customers encountering obstacles in the processes for receiving computers or applicable documentation by forwarding issues for resolution to appropriate process owners.
  • Develop and submit Move, Add, and Change (MAC) requests through the Navy Marine Corps Internet ordering website to ensure availability of command assets.
  • Develop and maintain a database to track the receipt, processing, and completion status of System Access and Authorization Request.
  • Perform Common Access Card (CAC)/Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Local Registration Authority (LRA) services.
  • Assist in the development, information gathering, and tracking for shipboard Information Technology Purchase Request (ITPR) to facilitate submittal to Government POCs for processing.
  • Perform RMF support in accordance with DoDI 8510.01 “Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology, including control validation, documentation development and support, Navy Approving Official (NAO) coordination assistance, and continuous monitoring support, as required, for CNSP Centrally Managed Programs (CMPs).
  • Perform all required and approved Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) RMF process steps including the following:
    • Overseeing the development and maintenance of a system’s cybersecurity solutions
    • Identifying the security control baseline set and any applicable overlays and tailoring
    • Perform development, maintenance, and tracking of the SP
    • Perform security control implementation and testing efforts
    • Perform security control implementation and testing efforts
    • Perform security testing required as part of Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) or annual reviews, to include scanning, patching, and HBSS implementation and policy development.
    • Mitigate and close open vulnerabilities under the system’s change control process
  • Develop the documents necessary for ATO decisions. Support eMASS, DITPR-DON, and DADMS entries for CMPs. Support VRAM tracking, acknowledgement, and scanning, as required, for CMPs.

Education / Experience / Certifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 4 years of experience performing systems administration functions
  • Must possess and maintain an IAT level II certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M.
  • CompTIA Security+, Cloud+, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP certification preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and obtain and maintain the security clearance required for the position.

Physical Requirements:

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. Possible lifting up to 25 lbs.
