Be the primary point person for the oversight and management of the TRADOC Azure Cloud SQL Environment
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the TRADOC SQL Azure Cloud environment
- Ensure the SQL environment is in compliance with all DoD requirements
- Recommend and conduct SQL enhancements.

- Will be the senior person on the team and will help drive the workload across the team and help in training other team members.
QUALIFICATIONS

- BA/BS or higher
- 10+ years of relevant experience (with a MA/MS)

Required Skills
- Proficient in management, availability, security, and performance monitoring and optimization of database solutions.
- Design and implement fault-tolerant SQL Server solutions using highly availability patterns for scalability and stability in on-premises and Microsoft Azure
- Design and deploy Microsoft SQL PaaS solutions in Microsoft Azure Government (MAG)
- Implements Azure infrastructure solutions and may provide oversight and leadership on workstreams across domains.
- Manages escalations, analyzes situations, and coordinates appropriate resources to resolve issues by following delivery practices, considering cost implications, and engaging in conversations with internal and external stakeholders.

- Responsible for setting up High-Availability and Disaster Recovery
- Plan and test high availability and disaster recovery.
- Create Users and assign/manage permissions based on the level of access the user would need; ensure robust and full proof security of assets.
- Resolve database integrity, performance, blocking, connectivity, and replication issues.
- Detect and resolve database-related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other contention issues.
- Perform and manage Database backup/recovery/restore and capacity monitoring.
- Synapse workload management and optimization
- Setup SQL agent jobs, elastic jobs and runbook automation
- Identify and setup alerts and logging in Azure.
- Maintain databases – Statistics, Indexes, fragmentation.
- Conduct Performance tuning and optimization (Stored procedures, Views, Functions, Queries, database)
- Implement operational automation using scripts.
- Coordinate removal and/or archiving of data that is no longer required to be available in the production databases.
- Design and create databases to support development initiatives.
