Basic Function:
The Senior Production Manager (Uhlhorn Street) is responsible for scheduling and manufacturing activities. The Senior Production Manager is responsible for safety, productivity, quality, housekeeping and team member relations in Production and Scheduling. In addition, he or she is responsible for any other task the Director of Manufacturing deems necessary.

Essential Functions:
  • React proficiently to out of control conditions
  • Oversee the introduction of new products, equipment, and techniques to production
  • Ensure all tooling is correctly tagged and organized
  • Interact with Engineering on the fabrication of tooling
  • Educate team members in efficient manufacturing techniques
  • Communicate recommendations and changes to all personnel via Workstation Instruction Sheets, memos and meetings
  • Provide feedback to the Director of Manufacturing regarding the capability of operators and potential operators
  • Ensure efficient manufacturing techniques are maintained
  • Review damaged tooling and take appropriate measures
  • Review production schedule daily. Work with Scheduling to ensure efficient use of machines, personnel, and materials
  • Work with Research staff to resolve material problems (both raw and finished)
  • Provide corrective actions for problem parts
  • Submit new and/or reactivated gages and calibration standards to Gage Control
  • Aid Research with sample production
  • Complete Level II Layered Process Audits weekly
  • Must abide by LG Chem Roles and Responsibilities Matrix
  • Ensure all direct reports complete all assigned training on time.
  • Understands customer requirements and customer specific requirements and how to disseminate through the organization (MS 5.1/1-01).
  • Bi-Annually review Leadership Development Plans for his/her direct reports to ensure that it is completed and signed (See schedule of Responsibilities).
Managerial:
  • Communicate effectively with Team Members of all levels
  • Assign team members to their work assignments by the schedule of priorities
  • Perform evaluations of team members
  • Provide medical attention to injured team members
  • Determine Hold Ticket errors, have team members sign if in error, and initial if error is less than 5%
  • Issue Standard work demerits when required
  • Issue warning notices to team members and terminate as required
  • Interview applicants for employment
  • Ensure acceptable levels of housekeeping and organization are maintained
  • Collect personal gages from departing team members
  • Uphold ISO-14001 program and fulfill any specified responsibilities within
  • Assist Cost Accounting and Quality Assurance in reviewing products for manufacturing feasibility
  • Review and file disciplinary notices
  • Review and initial Hold Tickets
  • Perform 7S Audits
  • Serve as member of Management Review Team
  • Assign 7S responsibility matrix
  • Maintain Plant organization and layout
  • Serve as Production Process Owner - Uhlhorn St.
  • Serve as the designated SAFETY ENGINEER. Safety Engineer tasks include the following:
  • Daily site patrol for EHS compliance including checking of high risk equipment/ process/ work activities
  • Notification and participation when risk assessments and / or management of change (MOC) is needed
  • Participate in response to internal and external audit findings which may include performing audits or participation of response plans.

Education:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree Preferred
Experience:
  • 5 years of manufacturing leadership experience preferred.
