Highlights of your role:
  • HIRING AND RETENTION: Responsible to ensure that efforts around employee recruitment, retention, internal/external job postings, and the use of employment agencies are performed to expectations. Engages with Talent Acquisition team to ensure that related processes are developed when needed for continuous improvement purposes, and that existing processes are followed consistently across. Monitors the effectiveness of orientation and on-boarding, recommending changes when metrics, data, and/or feedback point to areas of opportunity.
  • EMPLOYEE RELATIONS: Oversees HR Business Partner handling of employee complaints/concerns, leads internal investigations and advises management on appropriate resolutions for issues.
  • COMPLIANCE AND LEGAL: Maintains knowledge of state and federal legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting the Human Resources department. Ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. Partners with Legal for policy creation, implementation, enforcement of policies, and questions regarding policies through the Values in Actions program. Leads trainings for leadership/management and the HR team in various areas including, but not limited to: legal requirements, interviewing, hiring, disciplines, terminating, promoting, personnel/medical file record keeping, I-9 compliance and retention, performance reviews, safety training, sexual harassment policies, and the importance of proper documentation practices.
  • TOTAL REWARDS: Partners with Total Rewards to administer Marvin benefits and compensations programs, including proper record keeping per company standards.
  • METRICS: Successful performance on metrics such as turnover and retention, employee engagement scores, and other site-specific metrics. conduct analysis/perform research to Uses data to uncover trends and identify potential opportunities for continuous improvements.
  • TEAM LEADERSHIP: Provides leadership and mentorship to the HR team. Provides timely feedback and coaching when needed for all reports. When opportunities arise, hires well with Marvin values in mind, not just technical qualifications. Sets high standards for the team for employee support through responsiveness, acting proactively, communication, and understanding the business.
  • INTERPERSONNEL SKILLS: Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to work well with others in a team environment, work independently, and have the ability to mentor/direct the activities of others; has strong relationships with key contacts across the business.
Also want to make sure you have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business Administration, Management or similar from a four-year college/university is required
  • 5+ years of experience in a HR leadership role is required
  • Professional certification is strongly preferred (i.e. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR)
  • Must possess an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and have experience with various common HR systems (i.e. ADP, UKG)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are required
