We have an exciting role open within Caterpillar’s Building Construction Product Division (BCP) for a FP&A Senior Manager. In this role, you will be an essential partner and financial advisor to the Vice President of Engineering and Supply Chain Management within BCP. You will manage a team of up to 12 accounting and finance professional, both in the U.S. and in India, and will provide financial leadership to systems engineering, procurement, and supply chain strategy teams.
You and your team will support a global team of more than 700 engineering, operations and supply chain professionals with responsibilities for BCP advanced engineering, development, and implementation of BCP’s worldwide systems design, machine development and validation. This is a great opportunity to support management of global sourcing strategies, supplier performance, and execution of the division's supply chain strategy ensuring that BCP achieves its machine groups strategy through high-performing engineering systems and suppliers.
This role will also be responsible for analysis of all direct and indirect purchasing spend as well as management of our freight & transportation and inventory cost. Additionally, you will provide financial support to Caterpillar’s small drivetrain component business including design, development, manufacturing, and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) sales. This includes responsibility for all finance and strategic support for BCP’s component facility in Hosur, India.
What You Will Do:
- Responsibility for budgeting of research and engineering (R&E) activities as well as analysis of actual results. Your team will also support R&E systems capturing our R&D cost across various new product introduction (NPI) programs.
- Responsibility for analysis of actuals results of material cost as well as forecasting of BCP’s material cost into the future periods. You will also work with a team of purchasing professionals to track material cost reduction initiatives and their impact on BCP’s results.
- Analysis of actuals for freight cost as well as work with the transportation team to forecast future development. You will also work on multiple projects with goal to optimize our transportation network and reduce cost.
- Work across all BCP facilities to forecast inventory; support inventory reduction and optimization projects including target setting.
- Support the digital strategy of both BCP and Construction Industries by deploying advance analytics tools across our teams.
- Participate and lead several Global Finance Services transformation workstreams, especially in the area of R&E, Material and Freight.
- Support direct and indirect purchasing transformation including deployment of Procure within BCP.
- Support and shape BCP’s OEM strategic plans for the components business.
- Support our facility in Hosur, India including capital investment and expansion support.
- Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures providing guidance to others in the business.
What You Have:

- Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
- Financial Forecasting and Modeling: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques of financial forecasting and modeling; ability to explore and evaluate alternative financial scenarios and results.
Top Candidates Will Have:
- Bachelor's degree in an Accounting or Finance related discipline
- Progressively Accounting or Finance experience, including cost accounting and budget development
- CPA, CMA, or CFA preferred
- Previous experience supporting manufacturing operations
