Provides analysis and complete projects related to the development, implementation, administration and communication of health and welfare benefit plans. Ensures that benefit programs support the organization’s strategic objectives, comply with all legal requirements and are competitive and cost effective. Monitor service levels of third-party administrators and resolve issues between plan participants and program providers
- Improve the delivery and administration of various benefit programs and focus on an exceptional employee experience.
- Evaluate and compare existing company benefits programs with those of other employers by analyzing competitor programs and through survey participation and benchmarking.
- Identify, analyze, and assist in implementing process improvements within benefit administration.
- Collect, review, and prepare information used for plan analysis, design and pricing.
- Research, analyze, and recommend resolution to internal and external issues through interpretation and application of written plan documents.
- Develop employee communications regarding benefits and benefit changes.
- Interface with management and legal to research benefit related issues and coordinate timely responses.
- Prepare and recommend, with legal consultation, benefit documentation such as original and amended plan texts, benefit agreements, vendor contracts, Form 5500, Summary of Material Modifications and Summary Plan Descriptions.
- Identify actions required for compliance with provisions of PPACA, HIPAA, COBRA, ERISA, DOL and IRS.
- Monitor and direct third-party administrators to assure superior service to plan participants while maintaining cost efficient administration.
- Advise and counsel Human Resources and employees on existing benefit programs.
- Conduct employee meetings.
- Complete ad-hoc projects as needed to support administration and compliance.
- Bachelor's degree required in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or other related field.
- Requires a minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience and knowledge in benefits administration.
- Competent with MS Office applications.
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of HRIS (SAP preferred).
- Ability to communication observations effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to protect confidential information.
