Job Summary

Center Point Energy is looking for an Associate Quality Control Completion Representative to join our Meter Reading & Work Order Management Team, located in Houston, TX, and Byram, MS.


You will have the ability to: perform work order creation and completion activities in the ESD module of SAP to ensure the accuracy of records used to construct, maintain, and operate the company’s gas delivery system. Analyzes and corrects errors produced in the ESD module of SAP. May execute activities related to the Accounts Receivable Other (ARO) process and other related administrative and clerical duties as assigned.

Essential Functions
  • Ensures that all aspects of company records are accessible, traceable, verifiable, accurate and complete.
  • Inputs information into the systems used to document construction and maintenance activity for the Gas Delivery System.
  • Reviews and completes work orders to verify DOT, regulatory and business policy compliance.
  • Reviews and completes work orders to verify accuracy of Geographic Information System land-base and records.
  • Verifies that work orders comply with leak and emergency management policies and procedures.
  • Creates follow-up orders, notifications, and contacts internal and external customers as necessary to obtain required information.
  • Works closely with various departments including Contract Services, Field Operations, Finance, Property Accounting, SAP, GIS, FileNet, Mobile Data, Engineering and Marketing.
Essential Functions Continued
  • Maintains current knowledge of department and company information regarding pricing, capitalization, gas facility data standards and other general knowledge.
  • Handles routine aspects of the Accounts Receivable Other (ARO) process as it relates to non-commodity charges.
  • Assigns work orders to vendors and approves/pays contractor invoices.
  • Reviews and completes work orders to verify accuracy and integrity of materials management.
  • Exercises individual judgment dealing with involved, complex, or difficult work order situations, and problem-solving skills, including working with other departments, while analyzing work order conditions and resolving exceptions.
  • Applies the CenterPoint Energy capitalization policy.
Education Description
  • Requires an associate degree.
Experience
  • Requires a minimum of one (1) years of experience in one or more of the following areas: natural gas operations; SAP/ESD/GIS and/or work order processing and demonstrates proficiency with BP Rep I skills.
A bonus to have
  • Working knowledge of SAP and SAP’s work environment; including ESD, mobile data, leak management, reporting, maintenance, work order origination and completion.
  • Utility industry experience.
