Responsibilities:
Spirit Airlines is looking for a hands on Regional Director of Maintenance to oversee the maintenance related activities and operation of multiple Maintenance Base Stations and/or Hangar Operations. We are looking for an ambitious Regional Director of Maintenance to be responsible for building and maintaining sound working relationships with all departments as well as the ability to lead the management team with confidence. The Regional Director of Maintenance serves as a senior leader in Technical Operations for all activities related to the designated regional Maintenance Base Stations and/or Hangar Operations; coordinates activity and handles all administrative and policy matters at the designated regional Maintenance Base Stations and/or Hangar Operations; will work closely with Quality, Engineering, Stores, Training, and Fleet Appearance to ensure aircraft leaving Maintenance Base Stations and/or Hangar Operations meet airworthiness standards and fleet operational initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a desire for developing the designated Maintenance Base Stations and/or Hangar Operations into a center of excellence for intermediate maintenance, engine operations, and off wing maintenance activity support of the overall Line Maintenance operational mission.
Locations for the role are: FLL, MIA, MCO, TPA, ATL and MYR
Responsibilites
- Develop Planning and Maintenance Operations Model for the assigned Regional Maintenance Base Locations and/or Hangar Operations as designated.
- Develop strategy for manpower assignment between line and hangar operations and all assigned locations.
- Develop Leadership Team across the base such that direct report functions and dotted line functions work together in support of the base and fleet mission.
- Develop and Partner with Power Plant Engineering and Planning an efficient Engine build up prep function for the airline.
- Establish relationships with Airport Operations, FAA, and Spirit Teams in Flt Ops, Inflight, and Airports to meet operational requirements.
- Oversee and Administer Maintenance Base Location and/or Hangar facility needs – Staffing and Planning requirements for the assigned regional maintenance base locations.
- Recommend schedule and duration visits to Network Planning and OCC.
- Recommend Engine/APU/Landing Gear procedures to build up, prep and store critical assets for the Airline.
- All local Administrative and Procedures to operate the Maintenance Operations.
- Other Duties as assigned.

- Plan and initiate required corrective action to ensure the appropriate managers are achieving their profit and performance objectives.
- Establish and direct workforce plan designed to meet future staffing needs with an emphasis on the professional development of internal candidates for promotion
Decisions the Role participates in:
- Technical Operations growth plan Network schedule evaluation, OCC daily operations decisions, station capacity modeling.
- Material Provisioning for all Line, Hangar, off wing operations at the Regional Maintenance Base locations and Hangar Operations as designated.
- Technical Operation Administrative and Procedural Decisions.
Qualifications:
- Airframe and Powerplant License
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field a plus
- 10+ years Aviation/Airfield Experience
- Proven experience in a senior management position.
- Speak and understand English.
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, 10-year background check (criminal/employment) and be able to obtain a required airport security clearance.
- Must have a VALID Driver's License with a clean driving record. (License cannot have any restrictions)
- Asset Planning/Forecasting (Excel/ Power Point proficiency)
- Technical Knowledge of Engines/APUs
- Manpower Planning to increase productivity and reduce labor costs
- Operational planning to deal with the short-term execution of specific projects and changes, as well as any operational tasks not contained in the strategic plan.
- Business Case Development (Cost/Benefit Analysis)
- Contract Development and Negotiation
- Able to communicate effectively with other departments with a clear understanding of targets to achieve aircraft system knowledge (preferred A320 Family)
- Proven experience in a senior management position.
