Responsibilities:

Job Summary


This role oversees, manages and leads the daily operation of Maintenance Control department and reports to the Sr. Manager of Maintenance Control.

The person in this role ensures clear communication to the other partners in the Operations Control Center (OCC) and other departments.

Rotating shifts; times may vary.


  • Provides leadership and guidance to the Maintenance Control department while on shift and is responsible for all maintenance activities and personnel assigned.
  • Monitors and reviews all maintenance activities system-wide, such as MEL, NEF, CDL, MWI activity on the fleet, reviews for accuracy and schedules repair in a timely manner.
  • Maintains department goals, and performance objectives.
  • Ensures effective communication to VP of Tech Ops, Tech Ops leadership, and OCC operational departments.
  • Conducts conference calls and meetings as required.
  • Notifies leadership of any significant events, and ensures proper follow-up has been performed including: coding in TRAX, station coordination, and proper filing of corrective actions.
  • Works directly with the OCC Ops Managers to ensure company-wide Category messaging is accurate when related to Maintenance activities.
  • Coordinates all discrepancies with the applicable department to reduce impact to the operational schedule. Including but not limited to the following (Maintenance Programs, Engineering, Maintenance Planning, Quality Assurance, Flight Dispatch, and Maintenance Stations).
  • Oversees and counsels Maintenance Controllers for comprehensive fixes on all CAR (Corrective Action Reports) from the Quality Assurance team.
  • Maintains oversight of the work schedules of the Maintenance Control department ensuring adequate coverage.
  • Reviews work turnovers for completion and accuracy.
  • Oversees the daily operation assist MOC supervisors as necessary.
  • Ensures all Maintenance control training is up to date and coordinate with maintenance training for any new training requirements.
  • Conducts new hire training, coaches, guides, builds positive work environment and motivates staff.
  • Manages performance and accountability of Maintenance Controllers, Maintenance Control Specialists and Supervisors.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g., emergencies change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments).
Qualifications:
Education
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Aviation Management required

Experience
  • Significant combined Line or Heavy Maintenance Experience required (At least 10 years, highly preferred)
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant License required
  • A320 Gen Fam experience (at least 5 years of dedicated experience, highly preferred)
  • Management experience
Skills
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite, TRAX, Sabre).

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and delegate responsibilities.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced setting, prioritize and multi-task.
  • Able to work flexible hours, including overnight shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

Domestic & International travel under 10% of time
