Headquartered in Ashland, MA, since 1966, Kidde-Fenwal, Inc. manufactures fire protection and ignition/temperature control products. With over 50 years of experience, Kidde-Fenwal's brands provide safety products to industries such as marine/offshore, power generation, manufacturing & industrial, mission-critical facilities, oil & gas, mining, vehicles, HVAC, commercial cooking as well as medical, historic and residential buildings. The three brands within Kidde-Fenwal consist of Kidde Fire Systems, Fenwal Controls and Marioff North America.

About this role

Kidde-Fenwal has an opportunity for an experienced Procurement Manager to oversee processes, standards, and operational plans in support of Procurement goals. Duties will include to take action on changes identified in price trends and manufacturing processes to ensure success in the procurement process.

The Procurement Manager is an individual contributor, based out of Ashland on onsite; we will also consider candidates that want to work hybrid but based in Ashland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage parts/purchasing strategies via ERP system
  • Develop multiple Cost reduction projects
  • Oversight of work of team members i.e., cost reduction, spend consolidation efforts
  • Handle supplier relations and pricing
  • Manage “Change Implementation and Material Disposition” via the ECO/ECI process
  • Coordinate inbound freight with supplier(s), and usage of applicable transportation management systems
  • Control purchasing material and Purchase Order Management i.e., date and cost integrity
  • Address pricing and supply issues as escalated by tactical buyers
  • Lead cost reduction projects and activities
  • Make sourcing decisions i.e., supplier(s) selection and “make vs. buy” determination
  • Identify opportunities based on supplier trends, market conditions, and business needs
  • Generate material requirements based on Engineering, Agency, and Manufacturing production schedules
  • Adjust due dates, quantities, and shipments to meet production needs; ensure dates are communicated to and agreed with the supplier(s)
  • Participate in meetings with an understanding of all ECO changes being implemented
  • Quick and pro-active identification of any potential materials supply issues, necessary communication, and seek resolution
  • Responsible for small projects or multiple tasks within functional discipline
  • Consistent engagement with internal stakeholders and supplier(s) to address supplier OTD, SPPM (Quality) and overall performance

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years’ experience in an operations purchasing environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPIM Certification
  • Work well within a team
  • Contribute by applying acquired functional/discipline knowledge to daily business demands
  • Advanced Excel, other Microsoft office products and JD Edwards
  • Eager to learn and multi-task in a high volume, time sensitive environment
  • Able to function with moderate guidance on projects with short and long-term focus
  • Understand the fundamentals of the discipline/role and continue to develop specialized knowledge
