The Planning and Procurement Manager oversees the demand planning analysis and procurement processes, ensuring inventory readiness across multiple warehouses.

Compensation Data: $100-120k exempt salary based on experience.

Travel: Approximately 10% (Domestic)

Location: 100% Remote, M-F. Works across all US time zones, hours flex.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collaborates with Sales, Marketing and Finance in the development of the annual demand forecast and subsequent forecast changes.

2. Develops procurement policies and procedures and implements procurement strategies that reflect best practices, ensure fill rates, and meet inventory budget goals.

3. Ensures inventory levels align with expected demand and proactively expedites product procurement as necessary.

4. Manages departmental employees, including the Demand Planner and Merchandise Buyers, establishing individual and department goals, and evaluating performance.

5. Leads, trains, mentors, and motivates staff to ensure that all employees receive adequate guidance, coaching, and resources to perform their jobs and achieve department objectives.

6. Maintains order control, item master, and supplier master fields in the SXe ERP system.

7. Works with Category Managers on supplier relationships, supplier performance, item warehouse assignments, and inventory plans to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.

What you will need to succeed:

Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
  • 5-7 years of experience in procurement, with a proven track record of successfully managing supplier relationships.

Competencies:

  • Experience in purchasing for multiple warehouses and maintaining efficient inventory levels through purchasing and transfer strategies.
  • Experience in the assimilation and integration of new companies as it relates to the purchasing function.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to teach and mentor a team to become cohesive, consistent, and world-class.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to be decisive.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in procurement software (Infor, SXe a plus), and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Awareness of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements.
