Summary:
The Oracle Database Administrator with AWS RDS position requires a strong foundation in IT, IT infrastructure, computer science, and operating systems. In addition, proficiency in AWS, Agile, Java, SDLC, SQL, Python, Oracle, Windows, Linux, and DevOps is essential for success in this role. The ideal candidate should have experience with migrating the on-prem database to Oracle AWS RDS instance. This role will involve utilizing these skills to effectively manage and secure identity and access within the organization's cloud environment. The individual in this role will play a crucial part in maintaining the organization's security posture and ensuring seamless access to resources for authorized users.
Desired Skills
- We need a minimum of 10+ years of hands-on experience in the following:
- Working experience with AWS RDS (Oracle)
- Experience in migrating the on-prem database to Oracle AWS RDS instance
- Experience in applying Oracle Quarterly patches.
- Experience with Linux operating system support.
- Experience reading and tailing logs for troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of SOAP and REST API calls
- Experience supporting Oracle Identity and Access Management suite, including OID, OIM, OAM, OUD, Oracle Database, Oracle WebLogic
- Analyze and assess the Mission Owner current on-premise and cloud computing environments to identify cloud computing capability needs and gaps. Include research and cost assessment/benefit of each alternative, risks, issues, and dependencies.

Tasks
- Experience in migrating the on-prem database to Oracle AWS RDS instance
- Proactively retrieve and apply patches from Oracle's market-driven support for 12, 18, 19c including any security patching
- Apply any upgrades or patching that needs to be done in the environment, for example, Java upgrades.
- Manage replacement of digital certificates, including creating the CSR and applying the certificate
- Troubleshooting Identity and Access issues as reported by application teams via incident and work order tickets.
- Provide support for disaster recovery exercise efforts annually.
