The Plant HR Manager will be an integral member of the of the Plant Management Team and will be responsible for developing and implementing human resource strategies, practices, and measures that are aligned with the business objectives and support a safe, effective, high-performance manufacturing environment. The Plant HR Manager will manage the HR function both strategically and operationally, providing HR functional knowledge, and maximizing employee commitment, capability, and performance.

This position is 100% onsite at our manufacturing plant in Mifflinburg, PA.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as a primary resource to the Plant Manager in aligning organization structure and developing roles as necessary to support business. Provides recommendations regarding individual development strategies and manages succession planning for key plant management positions.
  • Leads the development and implementation of a disciplined talent selection process for all positions to be filled within the Business consistent with Federal/State Labor Laws and practices (EEOC, AAP). Provides management and consultation for the development, training, socialization and progression of all employees within the Plant.
  • Assists Senior Management in the development and implementation of key Labor/Management strategies and/or employee relations’ strategies for site; Drives prompt grievance/issue resolution; Participates in site labor negotiations, as needed.
  • Advises Plant Management on policy application, consistency and employee relations practices to ensure positive work environment and talent retention.
  • Develops and implements Human Resource improvement strategies and techniques to support plant leadership development and productivity improvement; Helps to achieve business and performance goals by assessing current and future business competencies and skill set requirements; Leads Training & Development processes to provide development for all employees to achieve business objectives.
  • Drives high performance culture through effective implementation of performance management system; Participates in the design and implementation of effective plant variable compensation and reward systems.
  • Serves as champion for safety awareness and accountability.
  • Oversees the effective administration of all site HR processes including recruiting/hiring, payroll, benefits, worker’s compensation, and HRIS. Insures HR compliance with all State and Federal requirements.
  • Approximately 5-10% business travel, including overnight.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • BS/BA in HR or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive HR responsibilities
  • Must demonstrate up-to-date knowledge and skill in staffing, compensation, benefits, organization development, maintaining positive employee relations, labor relations, training and development, employment law, diversity and safety
  • Strong process management skills and results-orientation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel
  • Must demonstrate skills in facilitation, conflict management, and change management.
  • Computer proficiency (MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with HRIS systems
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
