JOB SUMMARY
- GMRE is currently recruiting for an Electrical Aircraft Technician (2 positions available). This position is 1st shift and may be eligible for per-diem based on GSA.gov standards.
- The Electrical Aircraft Technician will perform maintenance and modifications on assigned aircraft using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and other test support equipment.
- Operationally checks all systems, sub-systems, and associated line replaceable unit (LRU) removal and installation.
- Interprets and advises on maintenance procedures and policies to repair aircraft and related equipment.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Troubleshoots, inspects, removes, installs, repairs, modifies, overhauls, and operates aircraft electrical systems, components, and associated support equipment.
- Recommends methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance.
- Knowledge is mandatory of electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles relating to electrical systems, concepts, and application of maintenance directives.
- Ability to interpret the meaning of symbols used in wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
- Must have the ability to properly handle, use, and dispose of hazardous waste and materials.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of five (5) years total electrical experience in Fighter/Attack/Bomber (preferably F-16) aircraft maintenance as an electrician.
- Must have experience working with aircraft wiring, technicians will be installing Avionics system modifications by routing, terminating 10/100 and Gig Ethernet wiring, copper wires, primary power wires, Coaxial wires , shielded twisted pairs/triplets, and possibly triaxial wires/connectors.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS
- Must have ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. SECRET clearance and be subject to a government security investigation.
- Driving or renting a car for company business is expected with some frequency. For insurance purposes, a valid driver’s license is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Normal color vision as defined in AFI 48-123.
- Medical Examinations and Standards is mandatory for this specialty.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
TRAVEL REQUIRED
- Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position for meetings, trainings, and/or site visits.
