The successful candidate will support the Joint Task Force – Space Defense Commercial Operations (JCO) cell in their quest to find and integrate best of breed commercial space domain awareness capabilities and build stronger relationships with our coalition partners. As part of the Defense Readiness Agile Gaming Online Network (DRAGON) Army, you will help develop and support a sandbox environment for these capabilities to enable rapid integration and evaluation of these capabilities.

Our team is looking for a dynamic individual to support an exciting role on this team consisting of part time database administration support and occasional support doing software development. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining current databases, reviewing future database requirement needs, and designing and implementing database enhancements in accordance with the end user’s needs. You will have the opportunity to support the development and evaluation of cutting-edge systems which are changing how the Space community is doing business.

The qualified candidate must have strong communication and troubleshooting skills along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This position is 60% remote and 40% on-site in Colorado Springs, CO.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent; additional experience, applicable training, and/or certifications may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Database Administrator or Database Engineer
  • Hands-on experience with scalable enterprise database applications
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with PostgreSQL
  • Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL
  • Proven customer service, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize efficiency
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment, taking the initiative to learn new tools and concepts quickly, and the ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
  • High level of self-motivation, ability to define, manage, and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
  • Must be a US citizen due to DoD contract requirements
  • Ability to achieve DoD 8570 Certification (e.g. Security+, CISSP etc.

Desired Skills:

  • Some experience as either a Back End Developer, and/or Front-End Developer
    • Back End Dev: Python, RUST, and/or Java
    • Front End Dev: JavaScript, and/or Typescript
  • Able to obtain Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility

Salary Range:

$96,400.00 - $168,700.00
