SALARY: $62,550.00 - $107,530.00 Annually
CLASS DESCRIPTION
Baltimore City Health Department is currently seeking a dynamic IT data architect and programmer who will create secure and functional code in support of public health initiatives. The ideal candidate will have passion for software development and advanced coding skills. The individual will be responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, testing, deploying and documenting web applications. The candidate will be crucial in integrating disparate systems across the agency to eliminate system silos.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Creating, reviewing and interpreting technical/design documentation
  • Formulate program specifications and basic prototypes.
  • Transform software designs and specifications into high functioning code in appropriate language.
  • Integrate individual software solutions into higher level systems.
  • Use web-based tools to create advanced SaaS when applicable.
  • Perform upgrades to make software and systems more secure and efficient.
  • Collaborate with technical writers to create documentation for user support.
  • Task Automation scripts
  • Interfacing with other systems/devices
  • Documenting of code ready handoff or self-execution
  • Upgrading, configuring, and debugging test code builds
  • Development of REST APIs that can be consumed by 3rd parties.
  • Collaborate with business SMEs and other developers.
  • Conducting deployments and refining deployment process.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: Have a bachelor’s degree in code-oriented discipline or relevant developer training.
AND
EXPERIENCE: Have two years of experience. Preferred candidates with experience in C#, Java, PHP, AWS, GitHub, MySQL, PostgreSQL, JavaScript, jQuery, Cypress and python.
