What You’ll Do
The Avionics Technician is responsible to the Lead Avionics Technician.
- Will be thoroughly familiar with the requirements of the Operations Manual, FAA Regulations, and the USA Jet General Maintenance Manual, as they apply to the operation of the Avionics Shop.
- Perform the tasks assigned by the Lead Avionics Technician in accordance with the current FARs and the standards of USA Jet.
- Indicate to the Lead Avionics Technician that needed progressive inspections can be accomplished.
- Report to the Lead Avionics Technician any discrepancies noted during the performance of his/her assigned task.
- After completion of an assigned task, the Avionics Technician will annotate all work accomplished, and when necessary, notify the Lead Avionics Technician or USA Jet Inspection Department (as applicable) when the work performed requires inspection sign-off.
- Perform tasks and operate equipment in a safe and proper manner and report any unsafe conditions to the Lead Avionics Technician or the Avionics Manager
- Responsible to actively participate in USA Jet Safety Programs and SMS. Required to report all safety concerns in a timely manner. Required to ensure that they and their co-workers are performing their functions in the safest possible manner. Required to follow the standards of the Occupational Safety and Health organization with legal authority at the location at which they are working.
What You’ll Bring
- The Avionics Technician must maintain a current and appropriate A&P Certificate or Repairman’s Certificate and remain current in USA Jet’s approved training programs
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum two (2) years aviation experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of all applicable regulatory requirements
- USA Jet Airlines, Inc. Aircraft Maintenance personnel must be able to travel on short notice to perform line maintenance and/or aircraft recovery/repairs as needed. This will require being ready to travel with little or no notice, for indefinite periods of time.
- Aircraft Mechanics/Technicians will be required to complete the TSA Security Training Program provided by USA Jet Airlines.
- Successfully candidates must pass an initial, and random, Drug and Alcohol screening process as required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and a fingerprint based Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and/or Security Threat Assessment (STA) as required by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
