Distribution Maintenance Manager experience required

Principle Duties and Responsibilities (essential functions)

  • Provide supervision and training of maintenance team based upon criteria provided by facility management Work along with staff as necessary to complete work orders
  • Coach maintenance team for continuous improvement on appropriate trade skills, qualifications and cross-train for enhanced development experience. Function as a resource of information on safety, as well as, technical related issues. Make daily safety audits. Complete daily, weekly and monthly inspections of equipment
  • Conducts training of the maintenance personnel as needed and ensure appropriate disciplinary actions are taken when deemed necessary. Insures compliance with the Union contract and company policy
  • Schedule weekly/daily labor resources for the maintenance department to meet facility management requirements
  • Advise Area Maintenance & Compliance Manager / regularly provides info related to any/all technical or personnel issues that occurred on the shifts
  • Ensure that maintenance personnel are trained and knowledgeable regarding products and food safety (SQF) requirements
  • Assist department management in securing safe conditions and proper maintenance, including documentation in accordance with facility SOP's, OSHA, MOSHA, EPA, SQF, federal, state and company regulations requirements
  • Maintain over 350 pieces of Material Handling Equipment (reach trucks, pallet jacks, stock pickers and fork lifts) to ensure the efficient movement of product through the facility
  • Streamline and maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance program
  • Oversee Computerized Maintenance Management System (EAM), reviews maintenance work orders and other written notes and information to determine priority of need based on production schedules and urgency of problems to plan repairs, meet schedules, address breakdowns and special equipment needs
  • Develop cost and capital spending justification for facility related projects, oversee Capital budget software (Coupa) for facility.
  • Budget accountability for maintenance labor, Material Handling Equipment, Building and Grounds
  • Participate in various Ahold-Delhaize Synergies, including Material Handling Equipment; building R&M, MHE parts, Lamp Recycling, Uniform and the Supplier Diversity Initiative, to create cost efficiencies for Ahold-Delhaize USA companies.

Education

Minimum:

  • Associates degree with a business or technical focus, or equivalent experience

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, technical certification in maintenance and compliance related field

Experience

  • 5 years management experience with hands on experience in facilities, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building repair and overall troubleshooting

  • Work is reviewed with Maintenance and Compliance manager on a routine basis. Some of the compliance, regulatory, and mechanical aspects of the role are outlined, but oversight and management of team and continuous improvement are not predetermined.

  • This position has 8 union associates reporting directly to the role (Forklift Mechanics and Battery Men)
