Objective:
Manages one or more functional areas within the Warehouse & Logistics organization to ensure optimal performance of the work center(s). Areas of responsbility may include but are not limited to: receiving, warehousing, inventory/production control, shipping, and logistics.
This position is primarily responsible to ensure high levels of employee efficiency, morale, safety, training, and development are maintained in assigned work center(s) while supporting business goals and objectives.
Main Function Responsibilities
A) Managerial Responsibilities:
- Oversee routine activities of assigned personnel including conformance to company productivity goals, policies, and procedures
- Interview, hire & train employees; plan, assign & direct work; reward & discipline employees; address complains and resolve problems
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies and applicable laws.
- Maintain a high quality of workmanship through leadership and engagement
B) Facilitates process improvements that align with company Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People, and Innovation standards.
C) Develop and maintain strong positive communication and working relations with all employees and other departments to maintain company goals.
D) Creates an atmosphere for development of new concepts, ideas, and methods to support continuous improvement
E) Actively promote safety in all aspects of the department.
F) Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements:
A. Education & Qualification
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's degree or higher preferred
B. Work Experience - Technical knowledge
- At least 5 years of combined experience in one or more of the following areas: receiving, warehousing, inventory/production control, shipping & logistics or related fields
- Minimum of 1 year in leadership role
- Previous leadership experience of 1-3 years preferred
C. Professional Skills
- Industry knowledge, understanding of B2B manufacturing
- Experience with PC software (MS Office, Excel, Word etc.)
- Must have knowledge of bargaining agreement or willingness to learn.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills combined with customer service attitude/experience
- Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.
