The Company:
Alpha Structural is a rapidly expanding design/build firm expert in residential and commercial foundation repairs, structural repairs, hillside stabilization, and retaining walls. We have been rebuilding the foundations of Los Angeles for over thirty years. We have several awards including Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Companies, LA Business Journal fastest growing construction companies, and 2021 Best Contractors to Work for in Construction.

We work all over Los Angeles County and we have just opened a remote office in Orange County, soon we will be growing to 3 additional offices.

The Position:
We are looking for an HR professional to lead our Human Resource functions as the Vice President. This position is a part of our Personnel Division and ensures all employees have a positive working environment whereby they can be productive. We have about 130 employees including office and field staff. You will manage benefits and trainings, process new hires, apply policy, process resignations/terminations, stay up to date on labor law, and other administrative work in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Handle workers compensation cases
  • Handle terminations
  • Prepare and review benefits packages
  • Update employee records with new hire information and/or changes in employment status
  • Maintain organized and up to date personnel files
  • Applying company policy across all personnel and correcting problems as needed.
  • Process any workers compensation, EDD, etc. requests
  • Update and implement HR policies throughout the organization
  • Process employees’ queries and respond in a timely manner
  • Stay up-to-date and comply with changes in labor legislation

Skills

  • Construction Industry experience
  • Proven work experience in HR
  • Understanding of California labor law

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
