The American Society of Radiologic Technologists is seeking a Vice President of People and Culture.

Responsibilities:

This senior executive position is responsible for the work culture and environment for all ASRT staff. Leading the Human Resource Department, this individual oversees and maintains the integrity of all human resources functions including the creation of an inclusive culture, employee relations, recruitment, benefits, multi-state payroll, performance management, policies, legal compliance, organizational training and employee celebrations. Forward/innovative thinking, executive-level decision making and analytical skills are essential requirements of this position, as are advanced communication skills, strategic mindset, people management and leadership skills.

Duties:

Strategy, Vision and Leadership

  • Advises the chief executive officer and senior executive team on human resources strategy, ensuring a positive, inclusive work culture.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of innovative tactical and strategic initiatives as determined by the CEO and senior executive team.
  • Maintains continuous lines of communication, keeping the CEO informed of all critical issues.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with the entire management team to ensure all parties collaborate to support and address employee matters.
  • Oversees all HR budgets to ensure appropriate use of funds and evaluate potential cost savings.

Employee Relations/Performance Management

  • Manages employee relations by collaborating with managers and staff to find positive solutions through honest dialogue and accountability. This responsibility also includes conducting investigations and responding to employee grievances.
  • Oversees performance review process by developing a strong coaching environment to recognize employee contributions and address concerns.
  • Creates a purpose-driven culture focused on professional and personal development and celebrating employees to include strategic implementation of training and development and employee-recognition programs.
  • Manages off-boarding process, both voluntary and involuntary. Completes exit interviews for separating employees.
  • Promotes the creation of an innovative culture by utilizing change management leadership principles.
  • Creates an environment of connections in a hybrid work environment.

Legal Compliance/Policies

  • Makes recommendations for policy updates and modifications to ensure legal compliance and responds to questions regarding current policies.
  • Ensures legal compliance with federal and state employment laws. Develops policies and procedures to support this effort. Represents ASRT in labor-related hearings and investigations.

Recruitment/Onboarding/Retention

  • Works with HR team to interview eligible candidates.
  • Oversees and participates in employee survey processes for retention purposes.
  • Oversees the onboarding of new hires, working with the HR team to develop orientation and training plans.

Benefits/Payroll

  • Oversees a multi-state payroll to assure legal compliance.
  • Partners with the chief financial officer to ensure strong internal controls and compensating controls are in place to keep payroll records safe and accurate. Also works with the CFO to ensure payroll tax compliance.
  • Partners with the HR manager to ensure all operational functions are completed accurately and efficiently, including multi-state payroll processing, benefits and recruitment.
  • Works with the CEO to develop a compensation structure that is equitable, both internally and externally.
  • Works closely with a broker to negotiate benefit plans for open enrollment.
  • Stays well-informed on new benefits in the marketplace and assesses the need for benefit plan modifications or additions.
  • As a member of the 401(k) Trustee Group, has a fiduciary responsibility to review plan investments and make recommendations.
  • Develops ways to encourage the use of all benefits, including community service and tuition reimbursement.

Training

  • Oversees competency management and training programs for the organization.

Successful Candidates Meet the Following Criteria:

  •  Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or a closely related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant strategic human resources business partner experience.
  • SHRM affiliation/membership.
  • Proven track record of managing multi-state payroll.
  • Experience dealing with complex employee relations issues.
  • Proven ability to balance the strategic and tactical elements of the job.
  • Proven ability to support innovation and change.
  • Strong familiarity and experience executing HR disciplines, including organizational effectiveness, talent management, performance management, etc.
  • Experience supporting business growth and development.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to multi-task in a busy, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Exhibit critical skills in building trust, relationship building and partnering with all levels of management.

Preferred Qualifications/ Certifications

  • Human Resources Certification; SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR.
  • ASAE CAE Certification.
  • Proven track record in creating and implementing human resources strategies within a non-profit organization.
  • Previous experience working in all areas related to human resources at the corporate level in a company size of 100+ employees.
  • 5+ years of people management.
  • Master’s degree or higher in Human Resources or a closely related field.
