Position Purpose: The Vice President of Human Resources is a strategic leader responsible for developing and implementing HR policies, programs, and initiatives that align with the organization’s goals and objectives. The position oversees all aspects of HR, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, HR compliance, and organizational culture.

Location: Remote, United States *MUST RESIDE IN MICHIGAN OR OHIO AND HAVE THE ABILITY TO TRAVEL TO BEYOND OHIO LOCATIONS AS NEEDED

Job Description:

  • Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and implement HR strategies that support the organization’s mission, values, and objectives.
  • Ensure the agency mission, vision, and values are implemented within all HR policy and protocol within the organization
  • Hold staff accountable to our agency values through inspirational leadership
  • Hold staff accountable through disciplinary action, training of managers on disciplinary procedures, and handling all staff disciplinary issues
  • Coordinate an agency culture plan that is inclusive, positive, and celebrates the strengths of our staff and team
  • Organize quarterly and annual culture events to show appreciation and develop traditions
  • Track retention and propose solutions to retention challenges
  • Handle all staff complaints/grievances in a manner that is consistent with agency values
  • New Hires:
  • Work with talent acquisition team to organize and monitor all systems related to pre-hire, onboarding, and orientation process
  • Serve as point of contact for HR applicant tracking system
  • Ensure a thorough, compliant and inspiring onboarding process
  • Coordinate with site leadership for a smooth training process during the employees first week of work
  • Resolve any pre hire compliance issues (ex. Drug screening, background check)
  • Administrative:
  • Manage all staff benefits communication of benefit options
  • Maintain benefit package documentation for new hires and current staff
  • Coordinating all aspects of timecards, payroll, bonus plans, and PTO
  • Manage certification tracking, training/certification budget
  • Track all unemployment claims/appeals
  • Complete documentation process for all FMLA applications or employee leave requests
  • Ensure accurate postings at each site for employment/labor laws
  • Serve as point person for the EAP program, workers comp, staff injuries or other related matters
  • Track all 90 day and annual reviews, assisting with the process as necessary
  • Track and record all reviews and when they are due and send reminders to supervisors for completion
  • Coordinate with our billing department all aspects of credentialing prior to hire
  • Oversee all vendor contracts, with required BAA’s and annual evals in place
  • Document and discuss all employee offers and internal position changes
  • Create, maintain, and manage Board Meeting Presentations for leadership team
  • Maintain, track, and present HR department KPIs and present in Quarterly Board Meetings

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

1. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. Master’s Degree preferred.

2. EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role
  • Experience with employee management and employment laws
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing HR initiatives that drive business results

3. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: N/A

4. KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING REQUIRED AT TIME OF HIRE:

  • Typing speed of at least 40 wpm
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, and ability to prioritize

Pay: $87,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
