Industrial Metal Supply Company, the largest metal distributor in the Southwest, is looking for a dynamic Warehouse Manager and operations leader with a demonstrated history in people development and promoting a culture of safety first to run our fast paced warehouse and value-added metal cutting operations. Our San Jose facility is well positioned for significant growth in the near future.

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a senior operations leader on-site, the ideal candidate brings World-Class methods and techniques to a large warehouse-production operation and deploys proven processes to improve results, grow leaders, enhance overall morale and create a culture of continuous improvement and learning. Improves the branch operational systems associated with the Warehouse Departments. Help to streamline processes, improves efficiencies, safety awareness and protocols, build moral, implement team building, and create Best Practices (BP). Performs related work as required. Improve cross department communication between sales and operations and warehouse overall leadership development.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Responsible for all budgetary, people development, and operations objectives
  • Responsible for the overall safety, quality, performance, and customer experience of either inbound or outbound operations.
  • Lead Branch Safety Committee with the goal of creating a safe productive environment. Develop engagement and involvement to create the safest atmosphere possible.
  • Participate in the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and terminations.
  • Develop secession planning with your team, by developing leadership skills in your supervisors and leads to always be looking for the next steps in their career with IMS. Identify your supervisor’s strengths and weaknesses and utilize their strengths and build their weaknesses.
  • Develop cross training functions for all employees to ensure everyone is being trained for the promotional next steps. Focus on building leaders.
  • Forecast requirements; help prepare an annual budget; schedule expenditures; analyze variances; initiating corrective actions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/CORE COMPETENCIES

The following are the minimum qualifications which an individual requires in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. Please note that the minimum qualifications may vary based upon the department size and/or geographic location.

  • Strong understanding of Continuous Improvement methodology and lean tools.
  • High quality customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult customers in a positive manner.
  • Proven leadership, coaching / mentoring, employee development and performance management skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of warehouse/inventory management.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to effectively delegate tasks.

SKILLS

  • Excellent planning, organizing and project management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective warehousing and distribution of goods.

ABILITIES

· Analyzing and collecting complex data to affect positive and innovative change.

· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, fellow employees, vendors, and the public.

REQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS

· Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business administration, operations engineering, supply chain or related discipline.

· 7+ years of experience in a distribution/manufacturing/warehouse/fulfillment center.

· Lean Six Sigma- Green Belt (preferred).

Compensation

In addition to a competitive base salary and first class benefits, the successful candidate will be eligible for a generous monthly KPI bonus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
