POSITION SUMMARY:
The HR Coordinator reports to the HR Administrator in the Information Technology department and provides cross-functional support for recruitment, onboarding and other human resources functions. The HR Coordinator will serve as a liaison between IT, central HR and other departments and will utilize various systems and tools to perform and improve current processes. This position will work closely with the HR Administrator to ensure compliance with University and department policies, guidelines and HR practices and act as a backup as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruitment and Onboarding: Responsible for the full life cycle of recruitment and onboarding of IT new hires. This includes obtaining approvals, working with Resource Managers and supervisors on position descriptions, job postings, submitting offers and collaborating with internal teams to coordinate equipment and access needs. Facilitate IT orientation and track new hire experience by collecting satisfaction metrics. Work with hiring managers and staffing agencies for contract employment needs.
Appointment Changes: Submit personnel appointment changes, including working with Resource Managers, supervisors and employees to obtain required information. Prepare and submit required forms for salary and position changes.
Collaboration and Continuous Improvement: Work closely with the HR Administrator, Resource Managers, Managers, and IT leadership to ensure alignment and consistency in HR practices and initiatives. Identify opportunities to streamline and improve HR processes and service delivery. Assist with key talent management metrics that enable IT leadership and managers to monitor progress and impact of IT HR .
Payroll: Acts as a backup for the biweekly payroll of 400+ employees, including USF Administration, Staff, Temporary. This involves gathering staff and temporary employee timesheets, reviewing discrepancies, biweekly payroll changes to ensure accurate certification of hours. Assists with on-call certifications, certification adjustments and retroactive changes as necessary.
Work with HR Assistant to coordinate student recruitment tasks and other HR requests as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a Bachelors degree in an appropriate field and one year of human resources experience. Four years of professional-level experience in any field can substitute for the degree.
SB1310: Degree Equivalency: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree.

Strong communication skills and business insight necessary to interact with candidates, hiring managers and senior leaders.
