Jones-Hamilton Co. an employee-owned manufacturer and distributor of chemical products used in animal agriculture, food processing and the consumer and industrial products is seeking a Transportation and Logistics Manager. Responsible for managing all transportation and logistics functions related to our dry product. This position is located in the Walbridge, Ohio site.

The Transportation and Logistics Manager is responsible for the planning and controlling the flow of materials, products, services, and related systems information from point of origin to point of delivery.

General Responsibilities

• The Transportation and Logistics Manager will develop and implement strategies to reduce cost, maximize efficiency and improve service for multi-modal transportation and logistics network for domestic and global clients.
• Track product flow from origin to final delivery and apply analytic methods to understand predict or control logistics operations or processes.
• The Transportation and Logistics Manager will interpret data on logistics elements, such as availability, maintainability, reliability, and transportation and implement improvements.
• Negotiate transportation and logistics rates, fees, surcharges, terms and contracts.
• The Transportation and Logistics Manager will recommend improvements to existing or planned logistics processes. Support effective and timely implementation of all logistics daily operational goals.
• The Transportation and Logistics Manager will resolve any arising problems or complaints in a timely manner.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and other requirements.

Experience and Qualifications

• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelor’s degree) or equivalent relevant work experience in a Transportation and/or Logistics manufacturing environment.
• Minimum of five years of experience.
• Ideal candidate will have global shipping experience.
• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation.
• Strong organization, planning, and time management skills to achieve results.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers.
• 20% to 30% travel required.
