Summary:
This role directly reports to the Training Supervisor and drives all aspects of learning and development programs, processes and technology in respective business area. The bilingual training specialist acts a subject matter expert to HR and leaders for learning and development function. The individual will be responsible for understanding the development of our employees and supervisors to improve performance at our manufacturing sites.
Duties and responsibilities:
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Serve as a business partner to HR and manufacturing leaders supporting the site’s needs, delivery of programs and initiatives.
  • Identify learning and development opportunities through needs assessment on employees’ knowledge and capabilities to make recommendations for training, career development, employee engagement and performance improvement.
  • Collaborates with training supervisor, talent management, and respective HR teams to develop and/or design training for business including skilled trades and professional roles.
  • Manage and coordinate training at manufacturing sites, in office and remote employees for in-person and virtual events.
  • Accountable for learning management system including organization, reporting, troubleshooting and course updates.
  • Create training to support business as needed including e-learning, videos and other delivery formats or materials and work with subject matter experts.
  • Determine and recommend best practices and processes that support training efforts across business for continuous improvement.
  • Assist with development of learning and development strategy for business area looking at company data and talent development trends.
  • Ability to facilitate in classroom and virtual settings.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferably learning development, talent development or human resource development.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience supporting the training function in manufacturing industry (or related).
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience managing training programs, instructional design and facilitation.
  • Experience working with Learning Management System platforms – Cornerstone preferred
  • Demonstrated skill in business partnering, instructional design knowledge and learning authoring tools (such as Articulate Storyline/Rise and others).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office 365 tools/apps.
  • Strong presentation skills, ability to communicate effectively at all levels of organization.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on full time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Ability to travel 30% of the time

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk; use hand to touch, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel and crouch.
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto may occasionally be required.
