Are you an experienced Training and Development Manager in the healthcare sector? We are looking for a Training and Development Manager who is an Educator, and visionary who creates best practices, and inspires and motivates the best performance in others.

Do you have the ability to focus on results and creatively utilize resources to develop and streamline an effective training program?

As the Training and Development Manager you will develop and provide competency-based educational programs for clinical and non-clinical staff on an ongoing basis. Evaluate the content and effectiveness of these programs and make modifications to ensure improvement and compliance with current regulations.

Oversee the orientation process and ensure all competencies and training meet regulatory requirements.

Manage an enthusiastic and passionate training and development team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
(Includes, but not limited to)

  • Leads a team of subject matter experts in the development and presentation of competency-based educational curricula and programs across BBH.

  • Periodically evaluates the content and effectiveness of these programs and makes modifications as indicated, to assure program improvement and ensure compliance with current regulations.

  • Develops comprehensive training outlines, materials, presentations, workshops, and evaluation tools designed to meet the needs for all departments, disciplines.

  • Researches and identifies best practices for training delivery and timing.

  • Proactively evaluates and identifies gaps in skill competencies throughout the organization.

  • Conducts internal research, focus groups, and surveys.

  • Solicits input from clinical departments, compliance and leadership.

  • Identifies strong internal performers who may be resources for curriculum development, education support, and procedural documentation.

  • Monitors education and training for relevancy and effectiveness through responses from program evaluations, quality outcomes, documentation audits, and observed application of training; makes appropriate changes before future presentations. Consistently seeks research and best practice sources to maintain the relevancy and effectiveness of programs.

  • Collaborates with Human Resources (HR) and Clinical Informatics team members to explore additional opportunities for specialized education and training enhancements.

  • Identifies opportunities to accelerate and/or streamline training programs to improve team member performance, readiness for deployment and orientation experience.

  • Oversees BBH orientation program and scheduling. Evaluates presenters for effective training and presentation styles. Updates orientation material as needed and as appropriate for regulatory guidelines.

  • Ensures all competencies and training meet regulatory requirements.

  • Incorporates a “Train the Trainer” philosophy in educational initiatives as applicable.

  • Identifies recurring educational needs for continuing education, career growth, performance enhancement/improvement, and skill reinforcement.

  • Develops a rotating training schedule that provides this additional training and meets learner educational needs.

  • Skill/Competency Assessments:

    • Collaborates with team to schedule and host periodical clinical skill fair and assessments.
    • Leads team in conducting new hire skill assessments to determine acuity and properly align onboarding/training timeline.
  • Implements and manages criteria for meeting the learner’s needs and customizes training and onboarding to ensure success.

  • Forecasts, develops and monitors Training and Staff Development Department budget.

  • Is an active participant in organization strategic initiatives, committees, projects, QAPI Utilization Review etc.

  • Serves as a skilled facilitator in meetings and group processes.

  • Serves as primary point of contact for colleges and universities seeking collaboration for education and intern opportunities.

  • Ensures that contracts with colleges and universities are current and compliant with licensing and regulatory requirements.

  • Develops Quarterly Education Plan identifying deliverables, expected outcomes, and metrics for evaluating ROI.

  • Prepares Quarterly Summary Report to include a summary of all Education delivery, evaluation results, and any noted improvements / ROI resulting from efforts.

  • Proactively seeks opportunities to enhance the learning experience for team members and promote a high standard of care for patients and family members.


Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in nursing is required.
  • A Masters Degree is preferred.
  • Florida RN License is required.
  • Three years of nursing experience including 2 years of 'hands-on' clinical experience such as providing care and/or supervising nursing services or teaching nursing skills in an organized curriculum or in-service program.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant training development and management experience.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Advanced Computer skills required.
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule on-site, Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm.
