Description:
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for leading all activities in Tool Room and Machine Shop and all activities related to staff, including training, discipline, and development. Communicate with internal teams, including Molding Floor, Processing, and Scheduling to set priorities and ensure all activities are completed according to work process instructions and expected completion dates.

Education and Skill Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university, or 1-2 years related experience and/or training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):
- Communicates with key team members, internal departments, and approved vendors to develop project schedules
- Structures projects and define clear objectives for the Tool Room
- Coordinates between internal customers, external vendors, and supply chain to establish project priority, schedule, status
- Coordinates tooling transfers between internal customers and external vendors.
- Ensures awareness of status for all projects and activities within the Tool Room and ensures ability to communicate status clearly to internal teams and customers.
- Manages weekly PM schedule, ensures PMs are assigned and completed by staff timely and according to written procedural documents. Arranges additional training and re-assignment for PMs as needed.
- Responsible for all training, performance management, discipline, and development of Tool Room staff
- Communicates inventory needs to the Engineering Systems Administrator
- Creates and leads regular continuous improvement projects in the Tool Room
- Attends all trainings and remains up to date on requirements for supervisors and general leadership
- Supervises 5-10 tooling technicians working in the tool room over three shifts Monday – Friday. All supervisory duties must be completed in compliance with all applicable laws and policies.
