JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Quality Assurance (QA) manager, a QA is responsible for ensuring that production areas and products produced meet the predetermined quality criteria set by the company and USDA. Specific Duties: 1. Perform pre-operational sanitation procedures and inspection 2. Check the accuracy of thermometers 3. Ensure temperatures meet set criteria for products and areas 4. Conduct temperature monitoring on raw, frozen, and cooked products 5. Conduct Chemical and PH tests 6. Conduct microbiological tests, such as equipment swabs, environmental swabs, and product testing 7. Conduct raw materials monitoring, such as product monitoring for bone chips, blood spots, bruising, voids and fat content 8. Check weighing on incoming and final products 9. Conduct miscellaneous monitoring as required per QA program enforcement 10. Conduct packaging appearance and proper label monitoring 11. Handle the selection of request samples 12. Ensure that sanitary conditions prevail throughout each area each day 13. Prepare paperwork and documentation daily 14. Ensure that all products meet quality standards 15. Enforce company policies 16. Perform other duties as assigned Experience requirements: 1. Demonstrate ability to work well with others including company and regulatory personnel 2.Demonstrate ability to learn and seek continual improvement 3.Demonstrate ability to properly and promptly assess a situation, articulating the appropriate company position to others, while maintenance composure 4. Self-motivate, ability to function without continuous supervision 5. Ability to lift and properly move at least 50 lbs 6.Ability to exercise good judgment 7. Ability to work safely and report safety hazards 8.Ability to stand on hard surfaces for long periods of time 9. Ability to work efficiently with line speeds 10. Skilled record keeper, ability to produce and maintain accurate paperwork 11. Demonstrate mathematical and writing skills 12. Demonstrate capability in a quality assurance environment 13. Must know and understand quality assurance procedures REQUIREMENTS: 1. Understanding basic math functions 2. Physically able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, and reach 3. Prior experience working in food production environment 4. One to two years of experience with monitoring and testing materials and/or equivalent experience

  • 10 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Work setting:

  • Food Processing Plant
  • In-person
