Summary of Job Duties:
The technology solutions training manager is part of the Enterprise Applications and Data Services (EADS) Department within the University Information Technology Services (UITS) organization. This role reports to the Director of Enterprise Data Services and is a key contributor in the comprehensive knowledge management system. The knowledge management system at the University of Arkansas is comprised of a network of people, processes, and technology that enables the storage, organization, sharing, and retrieval of organizational knowledge. This role is focused on technical training and professional development of IT workers including ongoing needs assessment, curation of available resources, design and development of materials, and evaluation of initiatives.

This position is responsible for:
  • Developing relationships with staff in IT roles across campus to ascertain technical training needs and implement programs to meet those needs
  • Developing relationships with other positions on campus responsible for training and professional development to share best practices and leverage resources
  • Planning the technical training strategy to support new initiatives, scheduled projects, and operational requirements of IT work at the university
  • Managing programs and resources for technical training in response to university needs

Other duties as assigned.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work and education experience
  • Excellent written communications skills as evidenced by application materials
  • Experience working in a higher education environment
  • Experience working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical individuals
  • Experience designing learning resources
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills in collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation
  • Experience prioritizing project tasks and managing resources
  • Significant experience assessing, revising, implementing and supporting learning resources
  • Experience with change management related to large enterprise system deployments
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge and understanding of a higher education organization, including goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, authoring software, content management tools, web-conferencing tools, video production and editing tools, learning management systems, IT Service Management tools
  • Knowledge of project management principles, business case development, and organizational change management
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Comfort with ambiguity and responsive to changing circumstances
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and a wide range of stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems with limited supervision
  • Ability to provide direction and use interpersonal influences to gain goal alignments with results versus activity-oriented outcomes
  • Ability to have a positive attitude and a proactive and creative approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to have a commitment to inclusive and diverse practices that recognize intersectionality and multiple identities

Additional Information:

Salary Information:
$72,000-$76,000 commensurate with education and experience
