Job Purpose
The Tax Director, Global Transfer Pricing and Controversy, will partner and collaborate seamlessly with members of the Tax, Treasury, Finance, Legal and business teams to help drive and support our commercial strategy and lead global transfer pricing for the organization.
Job Description
  • Lead global transfer pricing compliance (including master file, local files, and CbCR), reporting and audit defense including developing and implementing best practices, tools, and policies
  • Coordinate with the Director of Global Tax Planning on transfer pricing planning and project implementation
  • Lead global tax controversy strategies including interfacing with tax authorities to mitigate transfer pricing risks
  • Advise on transfer pricing aspects of business expansion including new market entry, supporting new product/service offerings, reorganizations, M&A, etc.
  • Draft and update transfer pricing process documentation
  • Perform quarterly or other periodic transfer pricing calculations
  • Monitor and analyze existing and proposed tax and transfer pricing legislation and assist with defining, implementing and defending strategies
  • Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data and reporting results and recommendations to management
  • Prepare ASC 740/FIN 48 analysis and position documentation
  • Perform financial/economic analyses to build financial valuation models
  • Draft and review intercompany agreements with support from Legal
  • Conduct research and tax position strategy development
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiency/transformation and coordinate and implement these opportunities
  • Manage the career and technical development of transfer pricing manager and/or other staff
You are meant for this job if:
  • 10+ years of transfer pricing and global tax controversy experience with progressively increasing responsibilities and accountability
  • People management experience with demonstrated ability to develop and manage staff
  • BA in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business, or equivalent
  • Advanced degree (MBA, JD, MST, Ph.D.) preferred
  • Professional certifications (CPA or similar certification) preferred
  • Big Four Public Accounting or Law Firm experience combined with in-house company tax experience
  • Experience working on and implementing tax controversy and global transfer pricing policies, best practices, tools, strategies at scale
  • Technical expertise and understanding of US, OECD, and global transfer pricing/tax laws
  • Analytical experience with research, economic modeling, valuation, and quantitative analysis skills
  • Excellent communication skills, strong Excel skills and a self-starter who is able to manage projects independently and proactively
  • Exceptional prioritization, project management, and organizational skills including an ability to synthesize complex economic and tax matters into simple, concise communications
