Job Position Summary:
This position is responsible for all supply chain activities within the Sumter campus, to include production planning, inventory control, shipping, logistics, procurement, and purchasing. Also maintains close relationship with Customer Solutions in order to fulfill customer orders as well as address customer requirements. Maintains dotted-line reporting structure to Cluster Supply Chain and collaborates closely with SKF functional departments (Business Alignment, Logistics, Demand Chain, Group Purchasing).

Job Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Develop monthly, quarterly, and yearly shipment and inventory forecasts, in collaboration with Sales Support and Finance.
  • Oversees plans to establish production, inventory and stocking levels based on demand and financial requirements.
  • Follow-up on actual versus scheduled production and alters schedules to meet unforeseen and/or unanticipated interruptions in production and supply chain.
  • Serves as Information Owner for DOH/DWM and XA ERP systems.
  • Responsible for the data integrity of the planning systems and user access.
  • Lead efforts for yearly system upgrade testing and validation.
  • Establishes inventory plans and implements programs to optimize inventory levels, including lean management principles in supply chain management to reduce inventories and improve operational efficiencies.
  • Develops and implements plant level policies and procedures for effective management of materials and planning systems.
  • Also responsible for reporting plant wide KPIs to include (but not limited to) Broken Promises, Availability Failures, past due, inventory accuracy, and freight.
  • Participates in S&OE and S&OP planning meetings with SKF Business Alignment team and Sales Support.
  • Responsible for coding monthly freight file and for implementing cost-saving initiatives related to freight and logistics.
  • Responsible for monitoring vendor performance. Coordinates with purchasing/procurement to guarantee that all supply-side requirements are met. Manages the cycle counting policies and programs to maintain and optimize inventory accuracy.

Job Minimum Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s in Business, Logistics, or related field plus a minimum of 10+ years of directly related supply chain experience
  • 5+ of those years in a managerial level supply chain management support role.
  • APICS Certification required.
  • Must be highly proficient in MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Thorough knowledge of sales, operations planning, inventory control, and purchasing systems is required.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills both in interpersonal communications as well as in electronic communication in a cross-functional manufacturing environment.
  • Requires a high degree of foresight, objectivity, imagination, and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to effectively interact at all levels of the Company with strong written and communication skills is essential.
  • Three six (6) or more years in forecasting or production planning and/or inventory management in a managerial level capacity is required.
  • Must be experienced in the use of an ERP or software planning system. Experience using Microsoft BI preferred. Prior experienced in a supply chain support role in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
