New England Airfoils Products, Inc (NEAP) is located in Farmington, Connecticut, USA and provides gas turbine products for air, sea and land.

The company built its reputation on over 60 years of technology innovation and large volume airfoil production supporting the United States aerospace and defense sectors including NASA and USAF.

Today, the 100,000 sqft plus facility produces hundreds of thousands of parts per year serves the aerospace, defense, marine and industrial gas turbine markets by specializing in tight tolerance machining of engine ready products from nickel based alloys, high temperature stainless steels, titanium and aluminum.

The company has the ability to support the entire engine life cycle: development, maturity and legacy by leveraging on concurrent engineering, lean manufacturing, supply chain management and control.

New England Airfoil Products is looking for a high potential manufacturing engineer to join our team in this period of growth. Our manufacturing engineers are responsible for both the development of manufacturing process for new product and improvement of existing product lines.

Supply Chain Manager

Purpose/Summary: As a Supply Chain Manager, you will lead a well-defined materials organization, focusing on production planning and capacity planning with a lean factory approach. Additionally, You will implement a robust Sales Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process while leading multiple groups within the Supply Chain Department. You will ensure alignment with customer requirements and timely deliveries. Be a change leader, driving business transformation using Lean Manufacturing principles, and oversee the preparation of production plans, inventory, and shop order management.

This position will manage the Procurement, Production Planning and Shipping Departments

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Under limited supervision):

Production Planning

  • Oversee the master production schedule to align with the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) sales plan.
  • Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data, providing recommendations to minimize manufacturing constraints.
  • Direct production meetings to meet commitment dates.
  • Collaborate with customer service to align with customer demand.
  • Review material requirements, ensuring on-time delivery to the production plan.
  • Provide input on the production impact of order changes, material shortages, and potential schedule interruptions.
  • Establish inventory planning standards, procedures, and performance levels.
  • Develop and implement production controls, monitoring shop order progress and identifying bottlenecks.
  • Create and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) outlining the site's position to schedule.
  • Identify root causes, implement solutions, and promote Operational Excellence methodology.
  • Manage the site's Enterprise Resource Program (ERP) system for data integrity.
  • Develop strong relationships with management at all levels.
  • Promote positive employee relations and a safe work environment.
  • Facilitate on-the-job training and cross-training.
  • Hire and develop team members to meet business goals and customer demands.
  • Provide regular performance feedback, complete performance reviews, and manage others through subordinate supervisors/team leads.

Procurement

  • Costing Controls and Review: Develop and maintain cost assurance procedures, Contract Guidelines and reporting mechanisms to ensure accuracy, consistency and integrity of all products costing.
  • Work closely with Product Manager to ensure all details of tour programs are captured in bids along with getting a better understanding of each tour program.
  • Negotiate all supplier contracts in collaboration with Product Manager for respective region to meet Cost of Sale and Capacity Goals. Facilitates and drives the analytical support for negotiations.
  • Maintain, in collaboration with Product Managers, superior supplier relationships throughout negotiations, routine activities, supplier visitations and industry events.
  • Work closely with Product Managers to ensure supplier selection is aligned with Brand Standards.
  • Participate in the Contract and Bids process along with chasing and tracking for all TOP (large revenue) Suppliers.
  • Successfully participate in following the Product Planning calendar and meet all deadlines. Responsibility to maintain team cohesiveness and collaboration throughout the process with Product Managers.
  • Where assigned, act as lead contact for large corporate or regional supplier representatives including facilitating all meetings and activities, communication and strategic planning across the department.
  • Conduct ongoing market and trade research to support in contracting discussions.
  • Work to limit overall company liability through acceptance of contract terms/conditions, ensure minimal upfront payments and cash flows, collection of supplier insurance policies and verification of suitable coverage amounts.
  • Generate all pre/post stay pricing across all tours.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
