Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under general autonomy, provides management, leadership, coaching and mentoring to a team of logistics professionals.
- Manages logistics operations in a country, area, or for a specific global mode while providing expertise in controls and documentation for all types of moves.
- Works with Product Service Lines (PSLs) to identify needs and ensure inbound and outbound transportation are arranged to meet operational needs.
- Manages the performance of the service providers and looks at data over long periods of time to see trends.
- Forecasts trends and issues that may impact the future movement of goods from country to country, with detailed knowledge of legal and customs requirements for international trade.
- Assists in setting benchmarks for global volume and cost trends by mode.
- Develops and implements logistics strategies in line with regional initiatives for Halliburton's overall goal.
- Oversees contract management and execution to include: negotiating, setting price levels and/or approving significant contracts with logistics service providers.
- Provides sourcing expertise using logistics technical knowledge, commercial acumen, and laws to negotiate agreements.
- Must have full understanding of Incoterms and their impact.
- Manages complex strategic logistics projects through a combination of leadership and subject-matter expertise.
- Provides inputs and guidance to the finance and accounting (F&A) departments for forecasting.
- Job responsible for various managerial functions including: interviewing applicants, training employees, directing and assessing subordinate work, performance management, setting hours of work, and handling employee grievances.
- Also responsible for making decisions regarding the hiring and firing of employees.
Qualifications:
- Requires completion of an undergraduate degree or equivalent in Supply Chain, Logistics, Information Systems or Engineering and 7 to 10 years of experience in related field of logistics with all transport modes (Ocean, Air or Land) to include hazardous cargo movements.
- MBA degree preferred. IATA, IMDG and CFR49 may be required based on scope of work.
