The Supply Chain Lead is a key role responsible for overseeing and optimizing supply chain operations. This position involves managing supply chain teams, coordinating logistics, and ensuring efficient procurement and distribution of materials or products. The Supply Chain Lead plays a crucial role in maintaining supply chain efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Supervise and lead supply chain teams, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Oversee logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
- Manage procurement processes, including supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management.
- Ensure optimal inventory levels, minimize excess stock, and track inventory turnover rates.
- Continuously assess and optimize supply chain processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Foster positive relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
- Collaborate with sales and production teams to forecast demand accurately.
- Ensure products or materials meet quality standards and specifications.
- Monitor supply chain expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Generate reports on supply chain performance, key metrics, and cost analysis.
- Ensure supply chain operations comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Address supply chain challenges and issues, finding effective solutions.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of experience.
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes, logistics, and procurement.
- Exceptional leadership abilities to motivate, mentor, and guide supply chain teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective team management and vendor interactions.
- Ability to analyze supply chain data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Effective problem-solving skills to address supply chain challenges and issues.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and vendors.
- Strong time-management skills to manage multiple supply chain teams and priorities.
- Willingness to adapt to changing supply chain demands, technologies, and business requirements.
