Job Description:


Ignite is currently seeking a driven, detail-oriented SQL Database Developer/Administrator to join our team supporting the US Army, in New Cumberland, PA or Redstone Arsenal located in Huntsville, AL. This position is onsite. Responsible for the stability, security, monitoring, and performance of the database platform. End-to-end systems management and technology governance of this platform, including administration, security, and audit.

Candidate will have a good understanding of relational database management system and architecture design. Will be able to create complex functions, stored procedures, and complex queries for applications and business intelligence reporting. Capable of optimizing database performance. Will have a good understanding of indexing, querying, and normalization. Experienced in analyzing queries, developing security protocols, and resolving problems. Should possess strong data management skills, with a good understanding of database integrity and security.




Required Skills:

  • Candidate will have a good understanding of relational database management system and architecture design.
  • Will be able to create complex functions, stored procedures, and complex queries for applications and business intelligence reporting.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting and debugging SQL code.
  • Familiar with any source control management process for SQL code.
  • Capable of optimizing database performance.
  • Will have a good understanding of indexing, querying, and normalization.
  • Experienced in analyzing queries, developing security protocols, and resolving problems.
  • Should possess strong data management skills, with a good understanding of database integrity and security.
  • Experienced with documentation including updating schematics, configurations, metric/performance reports, user manuals, SOPs, and Change Management requests, as required.
  • Have, or capable of obtaining within 6 months, two continuing education certifications consistent with primary skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiar with installation, configuration, and consolidation of databases.
  • Knowledge of designing and modifying database structures and system interfaces to include data interface and connections between databases.
  • Support data synchronization efforts.
  • Develops and maintains security provisions to guard against unauthorized updates, copying, or destruction of databases and ensures policies and procedures for administration control and verification of data used.
  • Capable of assisting with Incident and Problem response management and root cause analysis.
  • Responsible for data class assignments, data architecture, data standards, and compiling and cataloging data dictionaries.
  • Supports resource management for SAN and data repositories.

  • Education: BS in Information Technology and a minimum of 60 months SQL Development experience.
  • Certifications: Security+ CE.

Must be a US citizen and hold a Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
