We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Verification and Validation Lead to join our dynamic team. As a Software Verification and Validation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products by designing and executing our test campaigns. You will collaborate closely with software development and quality assurance teams, and project stakeholders to design a thorough test campaign, align resources, track, monitor and report progress and resolve issues that arise during the campaign. Be able to optimize the test campaign for dealing with large volumes of space vehicles. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high-quality software solutions.
Responsibilities
Test Strategy and Campaign Development:
- Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies based on project requirements and specifications.
- Define test objectives, scope, and success criteria for various stages of software development.
- Prepare test campaign materials for major reviews
- Work with systems engineers to ensure requirements and use-cases are captured in adequate detail to implement a quality test case
- Develop schedules and identify resources to execute the campaign
Test Case Design and Execution:
- Design and implement test cases and test scenarios to verify software functionality, performance, and reliability.
- Individually or with a team, execute test cases manually and/or through automated testing tools to identify defects and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Conduct regression testing to validate software changes and enhancements.
Defect Identification and Management:
- Identify and document defects, anomalies, and issues encountered during testing.
- Work closely with product teams to troubleshoot and resolve defects.
- Track and monitor defect resolution progress to ensure timely closure.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including software developers, quality assurance engineers, project managers, and product stakeholders.
- Communicate test progress, findings, and recommendations to relevant stakeholders
- Participate in project meetings, reviews, and discussions to provide input on quality-related matters.
- Maintain accurate records of test results, metrics, and other relevant information.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline
- Proven experience in software testing, verification, and validation
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies
- Proficiency in test planning, test case design, and test execution techniques.
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Familiarity with Git version control systems and Jira issue tracking tool
