Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking an accomplished Database Manager with distributed database and project management experience to contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives. As a

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain Oracle database platforms, supporting the database environment of all application platforms, and other database strategies and standards for the organization.

  • Provide strategic level technical leadership to the database Administrator group, IT, and the enterprise.

  • Manage a diverse, multi-disciplinary global database team including mentorship and coaching, goal setting, performance appraisal processes, and providing timely feedback.

  • Manages the design, development, maintenance, upkeep, backup & Recovery, disaster Recovery and safety of complex physical databases.

  • Effectively collaborate with key stakeholders within the organization to identify business needs and prioritize and deliver what is needed for business.

  • Develop, maintain, and administer database operational and administrative procedures, to meet or exceed Service Level Agreements (SLA).

  • Staff oversight to ensure database operations Team plans, policies, procedures, and transition/migration plans are consistent with departmental goals as well as aligned to Organization objectives.

  • Identifies new initiatives and makes recommendations for database growth and integration.

  • Establishes and maintains relationships with key stockholders, vendors, and within internal teams to seek, qualify and leverage the best ideas, solutions, and models to meet customer needs.

  • Ensure database compliance with any regulatory requirements related to FRM, EY, SOX, HIPAA, CAS, PCI/PII and other audits.

  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support DB operations and acts as an escalation point for technical issues within the database technologies and related infrastructure components.

  • Assist with process improvement efforts to identify opportunities for efficiency, automation and/or reduction in time to deployment.

  • Implementation of security configurations and access management, Execution of audit controls, baseline scans and gathering of evidence

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Six to eight years of relevant technical experience
  • Five or more years of leading a software engineering team

Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Extensive Database Engineering and administration experience

  • Hands on experience managing and leading engineering geographically dispersed teams to manage Database platforms.

  • Proven success developing talent and demonstrated experience working through others to complete work and resolve issues.

  • Deep understanding of Relational database technical background, preferably Oracle including both on-prem and Cloud (Azure and/or AWS)

  • Experience with database design, Operations, performance tuning, backup, and recovery.

  • Familiar with Database Continuous Integration and Deployment tools like Liquibase

  • Proficient participating in Agile Development Methodology, Jira, and task execution

  • Demonstrate proficient troubleshooting skills to provide resolution to incidents and problem management projects.

  • Knowledgable of other database systems and technology, especially advanced technical and business knowledge of the business units supported, including organization policies and procedures.

  • The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $129,455.00 - $152,300.00 - $167,530.00
