Responsibilities
Peraton requires a Storage and Database Architect to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC)
The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network
Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manages enterprise storage systems, including storage area networks (SANs), network-attached storage (NAS), and storage virtualization.
- Installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots enterprise storage systems.
- Configures and maintains network devices such as switches and firewalls
- Applies storage networking protocols such as Fibre Channel, iSCSI, and NFS.
- Applies cybersecurity principles and practices, including information security, incident response, and risk management.
- Performs data backup and recovery, disaster recovery, and data replication.
- Identifies and resolves complex technical issues.
- Work with stakeholders, team members, and customers to understand their needs and provides solutions.
- Maintains up-to-date technical documentation and procedures.
- Oversees the administration of databases including re-indexing functions, data restores, data replication issues, and APIs.
- Coordinates the updates for database software and database administration software.
- Sets standards for best practice server sizing to accommodate hosted database.
- Designs and oversees the implementation of DR/COOP/BUR solutions, data replication, programmability (e.g., stored procedures) and integration with other systems (e.g., SharePoint/portals and applications).
- Represents USSOCOM and interfaces with software and hardware vendors for support issues.
- Some positions may require working a non-traditional work schedule to support the needs of the customer.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- BS and 8-10 years' experience, or MS and 6-8 years' experience, or PhD and 3-5 years' experience, OR 4 years of additional experience in lieu of BS
- Five (5) years of experience managing IT professionals.
- Experience working on a global-based, enterprise-wide project communicating with local and long-distance Government personnel.
- Experience from previous roles in Enterprise Solutioning to include servers, storage, and databases.
- Experience with IT Service Delivery using an ITIL/ITSM framework similar in size, scope, and complexity to the requirements of this TO Must possess experience with site-specific logistics and technical challenges in a dynamic functional, management, and technical environment
- Certification(s): DoD 8570.01-M IAT II, ITIL 4 Foundations, and in one or more of the following: Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) for Database developers, Administrators, Consultants, Solaris, or Java programmers, IBM Certified Database Administrator - DB2, Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certification (older), Microsoft DP 300 / Azure, AWS SysOps Administrator Associate (SOA-C02), AWS Solutions Architect Professional Associate (SAA-C02), Azure Administrator (AZ-104), Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-400)
- Clearance: TS Level or Higher ClearanceTarget Salary Range
$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
