Job Title: Water Quality Engineer/Scientist

Our Water Quality Program is expanding services in the Houston, TX area and has an opening for an experienced Water Resources Engineer/Scientist. The primary work location will be our Woodlands, TX office. The primary role will include providing permit and compliance services to our leading clients, managing projects, preparing correspondence and proposals, working with regulatory agencies, mentoring junior staff, and conducting fieldwork as needed. Qualifications:

  • MS/BS degree in Environmental Engineering or Science, or a science degree in a closely related discipline;
  • Minimum 8 years of experience working as an Environmental Consultant in Water Quality;
  • Five to ten years of experience in industrial wastewater permitting and compliance is preferred;
  • Experience with water quality regulations such as the Safe Drinking Water Act and Clean Water Act (including 316b) within the state of Texas and/or Louisiana;
  • Expertise in NPDES/TPDES/LPDES discharge permitting and compliance;
  • Expertise in water-related compliance plans (SPCC Plans, SWPP Plans, FRP Plans, Dock Operations Plans, and TRE/TIE Plans);
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to summarize scientific data and model outputs in concise, readable language;
  • Able to manage projects with regard to scheduling tasks, budgets, QA/QC, meeting deadlines, and recognized for technical expertise;
  • Strong project delivery experience including direct client management;
  • Must have leadership, management, presentation, and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and maintain successful client relationships;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Participate in professional organizations and attend annual conferences;
  • Able to satisfy all Drug & Alcohol, Health & Safety, and Security requirements including obtaining a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card;
  • This position requires frequent use of a company vehicle. Candidate must have a clean driving record, and be able to safely operate a full-size pickup truck;
  • Flexible to work outside normal work schedule as needed; and
  • Available to travel as needed.
