The Wake Forest University School of Medicine (WFUSM) Senior Physician and Faculty Compensation Analyst will develop, implement, and administer the compensation programs in support of the physician, provider, and faculty population. Provide integral support to the leadership to deliver compensation programs that attract, retain, and engage the diverse workforce. Work closely with the finance and human resources teams to establish pay levels at the point of hire, conduct analyses to ensure equitable compensation for current teammates, support the data and reporting needs of the teammate population, and support equity analyses throughout the organization.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field or demonstrated equivalency.
- Experience applying data and analytics to influence decision making and business outcomes.
- Experience in organizing and prioritizing multiple projects / deliverables.
- Proficient with MS Office (Excel / PowerPoint / etc.), Strong analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in finance, business, or related field.
- Project management experience and experience working independently.
- Understanding of financial data.
- Experience with physician, APP, and/or faculty compensation & productivity benchmarks.
- Experience managing large data sets, excel models and excel based simulations.
- Experience in academic medical center or higher education institution.
- Ability to effectively deliver consultation services and build relationships with managers, peers in the HR community, and other stakeholders.
- Experience creating and maintaining reports and visualizations to present data in a meaningful way, using a range of tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau.
Job Duties:
- Lead analysis for complex compensation projects related for assigned group (E.g. physicians, non-clinical faculty, advance practice providers)
- Recommend compensation packages for new hires, based on specialty or discipline, appropriate benchmark data, productivity expectations, and internal equity analyses
- Prepare and deliver market analyses, pay analyses and other compensation services
- Provide data and reporting support for annual compensation programs including preparing, analyzing, and disseminating data as appropriate
- Manage and audit the compensation budget and effort including budget review and monitoring to ensure the financials correctly reflect all expense and are attributed to appropriate accounts based on internal and external guidelines.
- Participate in and inform the annual compensation budget planning process.
- Ensure compensation programs are competitive, cost effective, drive and reward a high-performance culture and are aligned with current and future strategic direction
- Partner with Finance and Human Resources leaders to administer annual compensation process, including analyzing recommendations for pay levels internally and to appropriate benchmarks
- Assist in the development of resources and guidance documents to support leaders and teammates
- Complete data submissions to benchmark salary surveys; identify and track opportunities for new survey matches throughout the year; and utilize market data to recommend appropriate compensation ranges
- Compile data for pay equity reviews, partnering with leadership, human resources, faculty affairs, external vendors, and legal as necessary to ensure equity reviews are conducted appropriately and on time, with complete data to make recommendations to leadership
