Senior Operations Manager - Mid-America Store Fixtures Columbus, GA

Mid-America Store Fixtures provides liquidation services, resources, and support to the retail industry nationwide. We specialize in used gondola shelving and retail store fixtures.

Looking for a Senior Operations Manager for our Columbus, GA location.

Hands on management position.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to formulating policies, managing daily operations, and planning the use of materials and human resources. This includes ensuring inventory accuracy, order picking accuracy, and maximizing the general efficiency of the warehouse.

  • Responsible for the operations within the warehouse, which may include the following departments: receiving, forklift operations, general warehouse, fulfillment, and inventory control.
  • Responsible for all phases of employment, including interviewing, selecting, training, monitoring, disciplining, and terminating warehouse staff.
  • Minimize order picking errors across warehouse staff and functions.
  • Develop team leaders to effectively oversee the daily routines of their teams.
  • Closely monitor the compliance with all safety policies and operation of equipment.
  • Develop and maintain quality processes and measures to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee the completion of all required paperwork and data entry by warehouse team.
  • Ensure materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures.
  • Managing day-to-day workflow of the facility while maintaining communication with corporate office.

Use of forklifts, pallet jacks, panel saws, power tools required

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel; and internet software.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises multiple employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
