Job Function: Lead projects for food distribution and food processing facilities nationwide. The mechanical engineering department provides HVAC, plumbing, piping, and process design services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate on design teams as the mechanical project lead and provide hands-on design from initial planning and development through production of construction documents
- Review shop drawings, respond to questions, and provide design support to field project management and contractors through construction phase
- Delegate and review work of other staff as appropriate
- Develop, edit, and improve project specifications
- Develop and improve design standards and production methods
- Provide consulting services as requested for clients and internal departments
- Position may include occasional travel for meetings, site surveys, and progress inspections for a typical duration of one (1) to three (3) days
- Position is full-time, paid hourly, and qualifies for overtime pay, with compensation based on overall qualifications and level of experience
Education & Skill Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with MLE NCEES record who can become licensed in additional states
- Prior background in the construction and/or architecture field
- 10 or more years of directly relevant mechanical systems design and construction experience
- Current knowledge and awareness of mechanical design and construction practices and applicable building, mechanical, plumbing, and energy codes and standards
- Understanding of construction contracting, budgeting, and estimating
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Trane Trace
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
