Position Overview

As a senior FP&A professional with significant experience in SAAS pricing strategy and deal desk management, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our pricing, packaging, and licensing methodologies to maximize monetization of our innovative software innovation. You will leverage your extensive experience in the SAAS industry to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and drive data-driven decisions that enhance our go-to-market strategies. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing the software deal desk, ensuring pricing consistency, accuracy, and alignment with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with senior executives including the Chief Revenue Officer, Chief Customer Officer, Chief Strategic Officer, and/or Vice Presidents of Product and Go-to-Market to develop and refine pricing strategies aligned with overarching business goals and objectives.
  • Provide strategic guidance and data-driven insights to senior leadership on pricing, packaging, and licensing decisions, including comprehensive analysis of market trends, competitive landscape, and customer segmentation.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives, offering expert recommendations based on deep industry knowledge and experience in SAAS pricing strategy.
  • Facilitate cross-functional discussions and decision-making processes, ensuring alignment and consensus among key stakeholders on pricing-related initiatives and initiatives.
  • Manage the software deal desk, overseeing pricing approvals, deal structuring, and contract negotiations to optimize revenue generation while mitigating risks.
  • Develop and maintain pricing models, policies, and guidelines for the software deal desk, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance with internal controls.
  • Collaborate with product management, marketing, and sales teams to develop and refine pricing strategies that align with market demand, product value, and revenue objectives.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of market trends, competitor pricing models, and customer insights to identify opportunities for pricing optimization and differentiation.
  • Design and implement pricing experiments and models to assess the impact of pricing changes on key business metrics.
  • Utilize data tools such as Tableau, Domo, PowerBI, and SQL to gather, analyze, and visualize data for pricing decision-making.
  • Partner with finance and accounting teams to ensure pricing strategies align with financial goals and objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate pricing performance metrics and KPIs, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in SAAS pricing and monetization strategies.

Additional work (see 'Next Steps') is required with each of these dimensions to arrive at a 'steady-state' for future reporting of AWS usage and cost.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A, pricing strategy, or related roles within the SAAS industry, with a demonstrated track record of successfully collaborating with senior executives to drive business outcomes.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate complex pricing concepts and data insights to senior leadership, influencing decision-making and driving consensus across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Extensive experience working with data analysis tools such as Tableau, Domo, PowerBI, or SQL to derive insights and support decision-making.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving results and delivering actionable recommendations.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence decision-making at all levels of the organization.
