Position Overview:
The Senior Database Administrator will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our databases. This tactical individual will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our databases, ensuring they meet the needs of our organization and support our business operations effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Database Performance Optimization:
o Identify and resolve performance issues, bottlenecks, and other database-related problems.
o Implement and optimize SQL queries to enhance database performance and efficiency.
2. Database Security:
o Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats.
o Monitor and audit database activity to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
3. AWS Experience:
o Manage and maintain databases on AWS cloud platforms.
o Implement and optimize AWS database services, such as Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, and Amazon DynamoDB.
4. Backup and Recovery:
o Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
o Perform regular backups, restoration, and disaster recovery procedures.
5. Database Maintenance and Monitoring:
o Conduct regular database maintenance tasks, including updates, patches, and upgrades.
o Monitor database performance and health, proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal uptime and availability.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
o Create and maintain comprehensive database documentation, including database schemas, configurations, and procedures.
o Generate and analyze database performance and security reports to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
· Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Database Administrator.
· Strong expertise in SQL and database query optimization.
· Proven experience with AWS database services.
· Solid understanding of database security principles and best practices.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
